The Villa Levens

Lovely and quiet, secluded and relaxing! Small hotel so felt quite exclusive. Food in the restaurant was very nice, a bit limited on the dessert menu but well priced. Room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. There were some general unsightly areas that needed attention such as damaged plaster on the walls and cobwebs and spiders around the radiator but otherwise a well appointed room. Could always benefit from a soft closing toilet seat 😁. Staff were friendly and approachable.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting, ideal for weddings, group get-togethers etc. Food quality excellent (breakfast and dinner). One or two minor glitches, we were on 2nd floor and were faced with a myriad of staircases going down, not clear whether they all led to reception (a sign or an explanation on check in would help). Staffing organisation at breakfast seemed a bit chaotic and poorly organised with delay for restocking the buffet with juice, and being supplied tea and toast etc.

Beautiful building in lovely grounds. Really impressed with the staff. Very good restaurant with excellent dinner - good choice, well cooked.

The property was difficult to find and when we arrived just after 20:00 after a very long journey we were told the kitchen was closed. 'Room service' was fairly basic sandwiches which we were advised to eat in the bar. The roof was leaking in our room but it was too late to get up and complain and when we reported it in the morning there was no apology. Breakfast was not that great either - cereal and a barely cooked English breakfast. Disappointing for a 4-star hotel.

Staff were very friendly and the hotel exterior and dining areas were well kept. The room was a little tired though and not the cleanest. A shame as I feel the hotel has great potential, but needs a bit of money spending on it.

Perfect stay - lovely hotel and amazing staff!

Check in was a little under whelming….when asked if we could walk the dog somewhere we were told, “there’s some grass over there”…..turns out there is a footpath that takes you through to the deer park and onto levels hall…..more local knowledge would be better. Breakfast was also average, portions were small and when asked for sauce, we’d finished before it even arrived! The staff were friendly, and it is a great place to take dogs, the decor is a little tired in the rooms, but the bathrooms were brand new. Water was hot, and towels were fluffy, always a bonus.
