"Great views, amenities, and service!"

10.0

The resort was situated on the beach with lovely views. I could view a remarkable sunset every evening on the patio surrounding the pool with a happy hour drink to enjoy. The pool was large and provided plenty of lounge chairs and a few cabanas. The entire facility was large but it contained several more cozy restaurants with excellent food. I would recommend making a reservation. However, the central bar also served food from each restaurant. The rooms were large and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at this resort again.

"No hot water for showers"

6.0

The rooms were fine. Basic but clean. The hotel is not on the beach. It is on a hill and a good walk to the beach. There is a shuttle. Try to get a room on the lower levels as the walk uphill if you are at the top level is difficult. Biggest disappointment was that there was no hot water for showers for our entire stay, despite being told it would be repaired. We later learned from others that they did not have hot water either. We had al a carte breakfast at the restaurant on site which was very good.

"I would recommend my ex wife come here"

4.0

This place is awful. Amenities are few and far between - most of which do not work. The shuttle service is pretty much “whenever I want to take you there if I feel like it we might get close.” There is no consistency or schedule. The TV in the living room won’t even turn on. Not a huge deal because the one in the bedroom works and we didn’t use it often but having it at all would’ve been nice if we had the kids. The beach is an absolute nightmare. The resort has about 25 or so chairs, of which only about 19 are functional. The garbage is pretty alarming, it’s not well cared for. The rocks and walls and ledges are all full of plastic bottles and other trash. We stayed in one of the villas and the resident across from us (permanent resident), who has a private parking pad - parked his vehicle in the lot next to us which was shared by the other 3 villas we stayed in so we had to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up which was steep enough to be prohibitive. Wouldn’t have been a problem if there was any semblance of organization with the shuttles but it prevented us from leaving at certain times to risk losing our parking spot. This is a perfect resort if you come here and have no plans, bring your own chairs, or use it as a place to keep your stuff only. If you plan for excursions or events and are on a schedule, or if you’re looking for a cushy, Costa Rican resort experience, you’re cooked.

"Beautiful area, hotel needs some work"

6.0

I was here with a tour group. The location is beautiful! The hotel part of the resort needs some refurbishing. Our slide to the balcony we couldn’t get locked, though housekeeping locked it after cleaning the room. The desk chair was so badly stained, we wouldn’t sit on it without a hand towel on the seat. There were no chairs on the balcony. The A/C had one temperature, just a shade too warm, regardless of where the temp was set. The shower was EXTREMELY slippery! We put a washcloth down to stand on, to prevent falling. The food was good, the pools were nice and the transportation was great.

"The Gem of Costa Rica!"

10.0

Second time round for us! Absolutely stunning vacation spot! From the moment we arrived, everything was truly amazing! Food, weather, beaches….but the staff and people in this resort made our experience! They are all so welcoming, helpful and always so happy! We were sad when our stay was over but know we will return again to this marvellous gem!

"A Little Bit of Paradise"

10.0

We stayed here as an overnight before heading deeper into the country and stayed again after having to leave another resort that wasn’t what we expected. This resort is all at once upscale yet comfortable, family friendly yet romantic. Both pools are clean, with ample space so you don’t feel crowded. The larger pool has a swim up bar and smaller, roped off area where small children can safely splash. There is a cold plunge pool in that area too. The sunsets over playa Hermosa near the smaller pool and restaurant were absolutely magical every night. We got the meal package during our second stay. The cocktails were well-made and the quality and variety of food was awesome. You could try all kinds of Costa Rican dishes, fresh salads and fruits, even the non- CR dishes like French toast and pancakes were so very good. There was always two kinds of fresh juice in the morning too. It felt like you were eating in a big, beautiful family dining room. The staff is super friendly and efficient. Our room was large with a big balcony overlooking the water. The rooms are basic, a bit dated and could’ve used a new, thicker mattress. But I’d happily stay again because the rest of the resort is so lovely. One of my favorite parts of the resort is the walk to Playa Hermosa. It’s steep but so enjoyable, with wildlife about. The beach also has a market, small bar, and restaurants right on the beach. There is also a tram that runs nonstop to and from the beach and throughout the resort if you prefer.

"Not a bad resort, id rate as a 3.5"

6.0

We arrived at the resort after about 45 min drive from the airport. Upon arrival check in was quick, we received 2 towel cards and our room key as well as a map of the resort. We were picked up by the trolly and taken to the hotel our room was 2318. To note there is no elevator. The room was standard with a king bed, fridge, coffee machine and 2 reusable glass bottles of water. The bed was fine, the fridge did not have anything in it. It is the first time for me being at an all inclusive and have limits on your meals. For instance you are only entitled to dinner the day of arrival and lunch the day you leave. It wasn't made clear to me that you are only able to have one seating at the buffet per meal unless you want to be charged. The buffet was decent, lots of pork options and lots of veggies and fresh fruit. The front desk lady who checked us in most times was unpleasant! The staff are not very attentive to remove plates or get you drinks. It is buffet style. There are options for other food if you would like to pay for it. It wasnt clear what was covered in all inclusive for the first day. Be careful of the Magpie birds they will steal your food if left unattended. The staff at the bar were equally unpleasant. The bar is open 10 to 10. The drinks are good and cold rry the Pura Vida. The views from the restaurant are so lovely! There are 2 pools the one near the resturaunt and another larger one with a pool bar as well as a cool tub. The pools are ok, refreshing. The grounds were kept nice and clean to note it is a lot of walking and stairs may be challenging for someone with mobility difficulties. To note, for smokers there is no smoking on the property. Now the trolly will go between the beach, hotel and front lobby it runs until 10pm and.comes anywhere between 10 to 20 mins apart. Make sure you get on the correct trolly. The beach is a public beach and black sand, there are not a lot of chairs to sit on and people will be trying to sell you stuff and will only ask once if you decline. I did not see a lifeguard. There are places to catch some shade should you need it. Overall the resort was cute, there are options to do all inclusive or not. They have the hotel as well as villas. The resturaunt and bar staff could be more pleasant. The entertainment staff were great trying to get people involved in activities. Exchange money at the airport as they dont have that option at the resort and the cost for transfer was $60 USD. They accept USD and colones.

"Best massage"

10.0

I had a massage booked for 2/8 before the Super Bowl with Leydi. This might have been the best massage I’ve ever had. I was sent into a different world. It’s a little pricey but worth every penny or Colón!
