Villas Sol Beach Resort

Highly recommended! We would definitely come back. The service, pools, restaurants and views were all fantastic! Very clean.

Rooms were basic but clean. Water pressure lower than North American standards but adequate. Frequent shuttles a blessing as the property is on a hillside and if your room is at the top, you're in for some exercise. Restaurant offers a buffet and a limited á la carte menu for breakfast lunch and dinner, but there are restaurants close by if you want more selection. Special shout out to Stanley, our waiter for many meals. Very pleasant, attentive and helpful.

Good experience overall at the Villa Sol, really enjoyed the Coco Vique Salsa dance hosted by Tracy,Liary and Guadeloupe. Food was good. Enjoyed our entire experience in CR overall with Alex on the beach and Catamaran Ocean Tours along with a coordinated day tour of Nicaragua. Our Condo was very nice and with convenient amenities but watch out for those little rascal Racoons who sometimes come to visit. If I were to visit again I/we would opt for renting a car instead of relying on rides. Nice that Villa Sol has great transportation available to get around the premises. The staff at Villa Sol was very helpful and friendly.

It was a great all-inclusive experience. We didn't take the meal plan they had to offer as we wanted to experience the other restaurants and Costan Rican food on the beach and across the street, Coco Viquez. We also were able to go to the Walmart and local supermarket to save on expenses of eating out. We really enjoyed the Latin dancing offered by Tracy, Liany and Guadalupe. They were patient in helping his learn the salsa steps and then we had a great time of putting the steps together and dancing with all the attendees. We used Alex on the Beach adventures to help plan our excursions and transfers while we there. We enjoyed a full day Nicaragua trip, volcano/waterfall/hotspring/rainforest trip, and a catamaran trip that started and ended at our beach. It was relaxing to to wake up to the sounds of the birds. Be careful keeping your doors locked as raccoons will try and open the slider.

Villas Sol is a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica! Staff here were so sweet and kind. We ended up at Latin dance lessons by Tracy, Liary, and Guadelupe and the girls were fantastic! Definitely a highlight of our nine-day visit. We also used Alexonthebeachadventures.com for our shuttles from and to LIB Airport and our excursions here. Alex is a brilliant guide and is knowledgeable about his country. We did a waterfall, jungle animal hike, hot springs/mud bath, trip up to Nicaragua, chocolate tour, horse drawn carriage ride,and sunset catamaran snorkeling tour.

We were at Villas Sol for only a short 3 night stay. The resort was clean, staff were friendly, Playa Hermosa beach is a quick shuttle or walk away and is wonderful to swim in. They have a complimentary shuttle that takes you down to the beach, reception and the hotel/pool area if you don't want to or cannot easily walk. This is a nice quiet resort, without the blasting music you can experience at other resorts. The room-only plan was a good deal at about $130/night pre taxes. Food at the resort was good and there are restaurants within walking distance if you want to go elsewhere. They do not provide shampoo and conditioner but do have a little convenience store in the lobby for incidentals, drinks and snacks. The only downside was that the shower in our particular room had low pressure and was not hot, and you cannot use cash there, everything is paid by card.

Affordable, excellent view and crew. Good food too. I can’t waiting for the next trip to be there, the new years ever party was very good too.

The beach and its sunsets are absolutely beautiful!! The shuttle is convenient to get you around the resort. There are several great restaurants within walking distance.

The hospitality at this resort is exceptional, and we had such a wonderful time! Guadalupe is a perfect hostess and so entertaining, and we really enjoyed getting to know her as well as so many other staff. We are so sad to leave tomorrow!
