The Pontchartrain Hotel

This is a gorgeous vintage hotel that was built in 1929! Love all the decor, in both the lobby and room along with the gorgeous vintage wallpaper in the ceiling of the elevator! The valet service was exceptional, especially Phillip, who we dealt with the most!

Loved the asthetic of the property. Old but very clean and beautifly done. Beds were very comfy. The room was a very good size and the bathroom was huge. Close walking distance to restaurants and a very nice stroll during the day to see some beautiful homes. We would definitely stay again.

The character, history, and the wonderful staff made our stay so enjoyable. Plus, we enjoyed a couple of the concerts in the Bayou bar. Highly recommend. Plus, the rooms were spotless. We did not go to the café so I can’t speak to that. But the Bayou bar was awesome.

Freddie, Tre & Murphy at the valet took such great care of us! We were traveling cross country with our car packed to the brim and they were tremendously kind and helpful. They also gave us some great local recommendations when we asked! We also had the great fortune of visiting all of the restaurants on site and nothing disappointed! I will dream of the Hurricane I had at Hot Tin and the milk bread and gumbo at Jack Rose were to die for! All of the staff at Jack rose was tremendously helpful and kind! Will definitely stay here when we return. Perfectly located in the beautiful garden district and beautifully appointed. Our pups also had the best time!!!

We checked out a day early because the property was very old, musty, and there are drug addicts in front of the hotel who harass the guests. The staff who work the front of the hotel such as doorman and person who watches the door does absolutely nothing. They didn’t even open the door for us when we checked in. They’re just on their phone.

I wanted to write a review because of the friendliness and professionalism of the valet staff. Phillip, Antanae, and another gentleman who had braids going to the back. They made me feel welcome on arrival and departure. The housekeeping person did an excellent job at refreshing the room. I enjoyed the New Orleans themed atmosphere of the hotel. I usually stay at the Windsor and this was a different experience.

Great location. Very unique rooms. The lobby bar is a great place for a drink. The front desk staff is nice. The rooms are clean and very spacious. The rooftop bar has very poor service. The staff are not the nicest and thought the view is great, you will wait for a drink.

Lovely hotel with old world charm, rooftop bar, amazing night club with outstanding live music! Drinks, breakfast, food and service was wonderful! Aushante at the front desk was a sweetheart ready to help in any way. Javonna was lovely and full of great information, wonderful lady at the breakfast counter remembered my coffee every morning even when i did not! So sorry i didn't get her name but they were all so friendly and couldn't do enough to make you feel taken care of.

This is a wonderful, historic hotel in NOLA! Great location. The restaurant has exceptional food and the bar excellent atmosphere and music!
