By no measure is this a “full-service luxury hotel.” 1. There is no daily housekeeping service unless you call and beg, and then they say you “probably won’t” get it each day. 2. Getting someone at front desk to answer the phone is…challenging 3. Rooms are extremely dated and worn, in a no-longer-charming way 4. Bus stations have nicer shower stalls 5. Toiletries and amenities in room are minimal. No cream for coffee. No swaps/shower caps/razors. Ask at front desk for these and you will get a blank stare. 6. At $600/night (and $55/night to park) this is an extremely poor value. 7. I have stayed here several times over the years and it is astonishing how much this property…both its physical condition, amenities, and level of service…has deteriorated.

We had a very relaxing stay at The Hotel Ponchartrain. The amenities were wonderful. The staff was kind and prompt. It has an enjoyable and busy bar downstairs and on the rooftop. Will stay again
