"Amazing desert stay: highly recommended"

9.0

Good location. Beautiful swimming pool. very nice tents, with amazing view. Seemed like the nicest desert camp in the region to me (drove past some). Very friendly and cooperative staff. Friendly owner. Wifi works sometimes, which is better than expected in the desert. Renovation was in progress (plants, tiles): looked very good. Fun excursions.

Timing of the dinner not suited for young kids. Luckily we already read about this here and prepared for that. Staff was very helpful, proposing to provide food for the kids earlier. At some point there seemed to be a problem with the pool drainage/sewage system, with some waste ending up in the pool. It was only a few minutes. Some short power outage, no big problem. Blood stains (from squashed mosquitoes?) in the bathroom.

"Nightmare in the desert"

3.0

Breakfast was pretty good, and the pool area was quite relaxing, but it was not enough to compensate for the stress caused by the rudeness of the staff in charge of taking care of hosts. I know it might sound like a contradiction

I’m sorry to say that I’m deeply disappointed in the people at the camp. It was not just a matter of falling short of expectations, which would not have been much of a problem. Having to deal with these people was truly humiliating. As a first thing, we had some communication issues with the property manager about the transfer to the camp. Transfer is a service that the property offers (for an additional charge of course) which we chose to use for arriving at this structure. Arranging the meeting with the driver was seriously hard due to very long response time and the fact that we were never given a meeting point. However, the transfer to the camp was not the true issue. Once arrived to the property we were welcomed with a tea and a chat about our departure the following day. The manager offered to take care also of our transfer to the airport, which we really appreciated since the desert does not offer much in terms of transport services. We agreed upon the departure time: 12pm. It was essential for us to leave at that time to be sure to catch our flight back. We were repeatedly asked about the details of our transfer to the airport, so we felt quite confident about it. The next day we had breakfast, packed our things, went to the main tent, where the reception was, and asked about confirmation of our transfer. The person in charge of arranging transfers (the one we spoke with the day before) showed us a text confirming the transfer at 2pm. It was way too late: we would have missed our flight. We kindly asked if he could move up the transfer at the time we asked for the day before. He initially refused, but I explained it was crucial for us to leave earlier, so, even though clearly unwilling to bother helping us, he said he would take care of it. Some minutes later I went check on the time the car would have arrived. The guy was doing everything but taking care of our request. Unsurprisingly, he again said 2pm. It was past 10.

"Breathtaking views in a fantastic location, highly recommended!"

9.0

We adored the superb location, the fantastic swimming pool, cosy lodging and the friendly staff. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were of high quality. Also the live music during dinner was much appreciated, giving it a enjoyable atmosphere. We highly recommend staying two nights in this lovely place!

Considering it is a remote place that is mostly self sustained it is no wonder that sometimes small inconveniences happen like limited (hot) water supply or small defects. It is part of the experience...

"Unpleasant stay."

2.0

The dinner is a set meal, the cooking for meat eaters was reasonable (although vegetarians will be disappointed). They sell wine and beer. They have an infinity pool. The tents are large with a good sized bed.

The hotel didn't answer messages through booking.com and said they preferred WhatsApp. My number was passed to a driver without my permission. The hotel made an error on the transfer so the car came a day early and they initially tried to blame me for the confusion. When we arrived at the hotel they said they had overbooked and put pressure on our party to share rooms (they also did this with a group of friends travelling from Ireland, so this wasn't an isolated incident). This was not handled professionally, we felt pressured to comply. If we had been told there were not enough rooms before we transferred from Marrakech we probably would have just cancelled. It was not a warm welcome at all, it felt confused and muddled. Possibly because we did not share rooms we were not provided with much information on the residence (for example, we didn't know that there was an option to have lunch, we were never shown a menu or a price list for drinks, we were not told about activities). The tents were shabby and poorly designed. For example, in my tent the shower and toilet doors could only open half way because they collided with the sink, in my friend's tent the back terrace door would not close so they had to sleep with it open which is a clear risk to their safety and that of their belongings, in another friends' tent the shower fell off the wall the first time she used it. The tents were very hot, but the air con was not connected and there we no fans for guest use which made my stay extremely uncomfortable. The grounds of the hotel were still under construction, so outsite our tents there were piles of gravel, rusty wheel barrows, broken tiles and general trash. By the pool workmen were doing building work. The pool was quite a long, dusty walk from the tents. It is a very inaccessible venue for anyone with mobility issues. The staff were very uncommunicative.

"well worth it - peaceful getaway with lovely staff!"

7.0

was nice to be out in the desert! the staff were all really lovely. the beds were big and comfortable. the little terrace outside all the rooms were lovely to soak up the sun, as was the area by the pool. dinner was absolutely superb and incredibly filling! lots of food! would recommend.

some of the communal facilities such as toilets weren’t fully maintained I.e no lights, and the performers at night asked for tips but we didn’t have any cash on us. but would still definitely recommend
