The room and location was perfect. The theme is cute too. I recommend booking directly if you have a pet as it’s only specific rooms, Expedia does not know which to mark for pets so this caused issues. There are quite a bit of steps to get to 2nd or 3rd floors.

Ok- a lot of stuff didn’t work including the refrigerator and we had to throw away all our food . A bit far from the city and have to walk on the road because there is no side walks

Our visit was supposed to be a few hours. My relative became ill and we had to find a place to stay overnight. We paid $208 overnight for this place. I’m assuming that maybe I don’t understand “shabby chic”. Maybe all the lodging on the island is like this. We booked while on the ferry, comparing reviews as quickly as possible. On the way, we passed better looking places on the outside. The covered and secluded entrance wasn’t clearly marked for where to find the office. The clerk was nice and moved our room to the lower level so that my cousin wouldn’t have to walk too far. She got off duty at 8pm and no one would be on sight again until 8am. We arrived @7:30pm. The room was clean. That’s it. It was Clean which is a minimum expectation. We were originally given a single bed. The clerk said that is what I paid for. Thankfully I took a screenshot of my booking for her to see that it should be double. Once inside, there were two small beds in a tiny space. Sink in the same room as the beds. From 7:45-8:00pm- (15 minutes), I played beat the clock, racing to the front desk to get everything that was not in the room. There was NO bath soap bars left for us at all. Only shampoo and conditioner. Had to run to get it. We had no luggage on this emergency stay. All of our things were at another hotel on the mainland. Then, there were no blankets. Ran again to get them before 8pm. We had to do all of our sink-related business without privacy. The room was freezing. 2 window/wall A.C. units. We searched and searched for the heat and finally realized there was a small space heater tucked in the corner. WTW?? We pulled that out and plugged it in, The only plus to this experience was that the bed was comfortable. It will serve the purpose of rest until we leave at 6am to hopefully catch the ferry back . I am requesting a refund of at least 50%. This is price gouging at its best. We were afraid of the $119 room down the way, but should have taken a chance on it. Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Wife and I spent the weekend for our 31st Anniversary. Off season and quiet but that’s the way I planned it. Staff was friendly, courteous and efficient. Will be back this summer during the tourist season when the island will be hopping. Recommend Blackbeards Lodge to any and all

Staff was extremely accommodating. Advertised room supposed to have an oven but only had a microwave. Angela at desk was very helpful in relocating us to a different room so we could cook our Thanksgiving turkey. Great location

Property needs a good update. Our Room felt like we were transported back to the 50’s. Any cosmetic changes were done very cheaply. Room was Minimally stocked with just the essentials. Had to request toaster and hot pads. Outlets didn’t have covers on them.
