Chalet Motel - Affordable Stay in Central Bend

The bed was comfortable at least

It was filthy, the carpet turned our feet black, multiple outlets didn’t work in the room and the water was opposite on the faucets and the owner was down right rude and called my face fat LOL

Most of the staff we interacted with were kind, there was coffee available in the room, and complimentary shampoo and conditioner were provided – which we appreciated.

Out of all the places we stayed during our U.S. road trip, this was the most disappointing – and unfortunately, not the cheapest either. The room was musty, outdated, and felt neglected. It seemed like they tried to mask the musty odor with heavy air freshener, which only created a stale, perfumed smell. The carpet in front of the bathroom was damp, which made the whole space feel uncomfortable and unclean. We also found a hair in the bed – not exactly reassuring in terms of hygiene. The faucet dripped constantly, making it hard to relax, especially at night. We had booked a single-bed room but were given a twin room instead – with the odd instruction not to use the second bed. That just felt unnecessarily strict and unhelpful. The receptionist wasn’t outright rude, but certainly not friendly or welcoming either. To make things worse, there were no visible instructions or codes for the Wi-Fi in the room.

Manager/owner friendly and helpful. Hotel was convenient, clean, everything we needed for our stay. We felt safe and would stay again.

I liked the price and the location. And once I booked it, they were responsive when I called to ask about getting a late check-in (after midnight)! And the next morning when I discovered my car battery dead, they helped jump-start my car!

It's old and it definitely shows its age--not that I expected much at this price point. ;) My room was an interesting configuration. It looks like it originally had one bed plus a sitting area. Now the sitting area has a second bed. Like the title says: "Good enough for a place to crash!" :)

It was better than sleeping in our car but not by much

The rooms were grungy, I feel the beds were just remade after previous guest stayed, as there were hairs UNDER the sheets. Upon lifting the sheets you will find NO mattress protector and the mattress was stained with piss. Absolutely nasty. The carpets made my feet go black just by walking around and there was what looked like throw up behind the toilet. Also on the bathroom door at the top is written "stoked to be loked". The one good thing about this was we were able to take a nice long shower.

Parking was great. Hot water was actually hot! Refrigerator ad freezer were separate from one another.

Areas of the room were worn and in need of cosmetic restoration.

Staff is always very friendly and helpful. The location is great and the value is just right for what I needed.

The a/c was a little loud, but i just turned the TV up a little.

After reserving our room online through booking.com we arrived about 10 minutes ahead of the agreed upon time and we were informed that they had given our room away to someone else. The front desk was very rude and didn't care at all that we had a reservation. We were told that the reservation was irrelevant and they have the right to give it away until we arrive.... We drove through the night since we didn't have a room for the night.

The owner is very helpful and polite. The rooms are recently updated with nice materials. The beds were comfy. The Chalet is on a main street close to restaurants, Fred Meyer, Safeway and Grocery Outlet. We were in town to see STYX at the Hayden Ampitheater and had a room with the kitchenette. We would stay here again.
