Ruby is my heart dog. I rescued her in 2017 after she’d been bounced around between several homes, and from the moment she came to me, we formed a deep, unshakeable bond. She’s 15 now, and I recently learned she has cancer — news that absolutely devastated me. Wanting to give us something special, my friends secretly coordinated a staycation for the two of us. They researched several dog-friendly hotels and ultimately chose the Rancho Bernardo Inn. Even though I’m a San Diego native, it was my first time staying there — and from the moment we checked in on Thursday, Nov. 13th, 2025, every part of the experience was incredible. The highlight of our stay was our interaction with Athan Gerodimos. He helped us move to a new room (with a bathtub!), and he couldn’t have been kinder. I love capturing moments, and our new room had the most beautiful view, so I asked if I could take a photo of him with Ruby. He happily agreed — and even asked me to take one on his phone too. It was such a sweet moment. On Friday, I received a text checking in to see how our stay was going. I replied with how wonderful everything had been, mentioned Athan by name, and shared the photo I’d taken of him and Ruby. Later that evening, Ruby and I ran into him on a walk. I told him I’d shared the picture and hoped it would get passed along to him — and that’s when he told me it had already been printed and framed for him. I was blown away. It genuinely touched my heart. Throughout our stay, Ruby and I soaked up every moment — gorgeous walks, peaceful views of the golf course, and countless small joys. As we were getting ready to leave, we met Netanya, who instantly fell in love with Ruby. She has a 15-year-old chihuahua named Chloe, so we bonded right away. Every interaction we had at the Inn felt warm and genuine. I’m endlessly grateful to my friends for giving Ruby and me this beautiful time together, and I’m so glad they chose the Rancho Bernardo Inn. Our stay created memories I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you for the exceptional hospitality — the whole experience left such a meaningful impression on my heart.

I stayed at the RB Inn for 2 nights. It is a beautiful property nestled in a quiet neighborhood. I love all the beautiful fountains and lovely areas for gathering, Our room was nice and very quiet which contributed to a good nights sleep. My only disappointment was returning to our room late at night and discovering that it had not been cleaned or restocked with towels and coffee supplies. I called the front desk and they notified housekeeping, but it took them quite a while to deliver and we were wanting to go to bed. I also asked for some bottled water to make coffee in the morning, but it never came. I expected better service than this for the price of this hotel.

Had an amazing weekend at RBI. The spa was a high point — great massage. As was dinner at Avant. Terrific food and service and atmosphere. Also loved my room and patio. Property could use some love in some areas, but overall incredible experience and will go back!

Joanne Escosa, the night manager made our stay so amazing. We are visiting for my birthday and she helped my husband and I feel comfortable and taken care of. She goes out of her way to deliver perfect service and hospitality. We are so grateful for her!

Staying at RBInn is always a great pleasure. The atmosphere and location, the staff and restaurants and bar, everything is outstanding.

Thank you RBI for the perfect quick 30th anniversary getaway. I especially want to thank Celeste, Benjamin, and Chloe for going above and beyond for us. From the special amenities, room upgrade, and the all the well wishes from staff. We felt very blessed! 100% recommend!

Breakfast was very good. We used The Verandah and Golf Grill for breakfast; and The Verandah for early dinner. Both were very good.

We are in our mid 60’s and we enjoy ‘including breakfast’ accommodations which usually provide a quality breakfast buffet. This would be a great addition to Rancho!
