Marriott Savannah Riverfront

As a frequent Marriott guest and business traveler, I chose this hotel for my family’s vacation because of its convenient location within walking distance of the River Street shops, restaurants, and waterfront. This trip was especially meaningful because we were celebrating my 50th birthday. There were definitely some positives. The location is excellent, the outdoor seating and gathering areas are beautiful, the pool was enjoyable, and both hotel restaurants were outstanding. Breakfast was excellent, and our waitress provided wonderful service. Dinner was equally impressive, and our waiter was fantastic. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was disappointing. The guest room felt dirty, dated and in need of renovation. The dresser drawers were extremely difficult to open and close, and the room lacked amenities I typically expect at this price point. Windows were filthy and light fixtures dusty. There was no complimentary morning coffee/tea or continental breakfast option. The biggest concern was security. Our rental car was broken into in the parking lot on our first night. When we reported it, we were told that camera footage could not be reviewed without a police report. While I understand procedures may be in place, the experience left us feeling unsupported. Housekeeping was also inconsistent. Trash cans in the bedroom area were not emptied, only the bathroom trash was removed. We were not provided additional toilet paper, and the floors were clearly not vacuumed, as debris remained in the same spots for several days. Overall, while the location, restaurants, pool, and outdoor spaces were excellent, the condition of the rooms, housekeeping standards, and security concerns would prevent me from staying here again. I would not recommend this property until significant updates and service improvements are made.

The location was great. The hotel was beautiful. I had a wonderful balcony, but unfortunately it was overlooking the air conditioning on the rooftop. Impeccable staff service everywhere in the hotel. The food was good now onto the pool. What a sad little site that was. The gate wasn’t locked and anyone has got access to it. The water was murky, and the inside of the pool was not clean. The pool looked like an afterthought. The pictures on the hotel website of the pool look nothing like the pool.

The Marriott Riverfront Hotel in Savannah, Georgia was a wonderful experience for a mid-May vacation. The hotel itself is elegantly appointed and sits right near the Savannah River which provided much entertainment as we watched boats and barges sail by our seats in the restaurants. A big thank you to the restauarant staff including Dista, Oca, Adi, and Arta. All of them were friendly, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. Their service ettiquette is superb. One caveat about the hotel housekeeping: guests need to make sure they remove Do Not Disturb signs on their rooms before 8 am otherwise you may not get housekeeping services for the rest of the day. Terrific stay with pleasant staff and comfortable beds!

Hotel was great! Had a wonderful view of the river. Brahm (front desk) made us feel so welcome and made our anniversary SO special! He sent a fruit and cheese platter and sparkling water to our room with sparkling water. Thank you!

Room AC doesn’t pump out enough cold air, called and sent tech, tech said that it’s the fan motors they purchase. Put it on 60 degrees and hi auto- felt like 80 degrees and low setting. Lots of other options in the area.

We were there with family for grandson baseball camp. We enjoyed everything about the Hotel. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable up to date and clean. NO noise. Love the location on the river and the seating area outside to enjoy the scenery. This offered many amenities -the only one that my husband missed was there was no hot tub. We wanted to special praise to Kimberly who was in the Concierge lounge. She was knowledgeable about city and hotel. Remembered what we liked at each visit and could not have been nicer or friendlier. Thank you Kimberly!

Central location in Savannah to lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Next to the river and great for early morning runs or evening strolls along the river walk. Nice bar onsite with great servers. On-site parking that helps with finding street parking.
