The location was close to the town

The lift sounded really unsafe, dropping suddenly when it reached a floor then stopped and wouldn’t work at all. The shower had no hot water and the opening to try to enter the shower was extremely narrow. There was just 1/4 of a toilet roll supplied for two guests. Other guests were left outside downstairs not being able to access the property. We helped them to access the rooms.

Unfortunately we had a rather unpleasant stay with Sanctuary Room. Our bathroom flooded (no toilet flushing, water coming out of the shower and the sink) and we couldn’t reach anyone. We called the number available online multiple times for hours and there was no response. We used the chatting tool on booking.com and still didn’t get a reply for hours. Unfortunately the correspondence was not very helpful and the replays were with hours in between. We felt accused of being responsible for the bathroom incident and they only gave us a different room after we suggested it proactively. Otherwise we would have moved out. We asked them via message multiple times to call us so we can solve the issue swiftly by phone but we never got a call. The new room they gave us was not very accommodating - light bulbs not working, balcony not useable as there was piles of trash bags and garbage on it, the toilet was not fully installed. If you have no issues during the stay it is a good accommodation but if there is an issue and you need help in a timely fashion I would stay away.

The location was good in terms of being really close to Pompeii ruins, shops cafes etc. however as it’s a residential building with the fourth floor being done into a hotel, there is no sign on the building to say it’s sanctuary rooms. There is only a sticker in the bell button among other flats that says sanctuary rooms. If it wasn’t for a very helpful taxi driver who dropped us of from the airport, we wouldn’t have found it.

Location and luckily there is a ancient but working elevator to the fourth floor. I wouldn’t mind but I was staying with my 78 year old dad that would’ve struggled to get up there in 28 degree heat after walking the ruins all day.

Dirty on arrival, hair everywhere even in the fridge and sheets, shower door missing, old used shower products left behind (from previous customer). No prompt reply to my complaint until late in the evening, offered to clean the morning after, too late. Table in the balcony rusty and unusable. Ashes left still on the ashtray. Too much money charged for what was provided in terms of service and accommodation.

Tidy and large room with a clean toilet, nice view of the city from the balcony. Helpful host with instructions provided via messages. Breakfast coupon was provided for a nearby café with a croissant of choice and a drink. Spacious and comfortable bed. There was an AC and a TV. Corridor to the room was also very neat and fragrant. The property is close both to the Pompei railway station and the historical site of Pompei, so great location.

Wifi password was mentioned on a board near to the room without mentioning the name of the network, so it was a bit hard initially to connect to the network.

Close to town centre, restaurants and bars. Nice breakfast croissant from bistro next door, which you can get using the voucher given to you.

We travelled to Pompei from Rome and decided to stay in Pompei for 1 night to break up the journey to Sorrento. We booked with sanctuary rooms as the rooms looked clean and well maintained. We followed the directions to the hotel via booking.com. However, when we reached the location we were unable to locate the building. We walked around the area for about 20 minutes feeling very lost as it was not clear where we were supposed to go. We ended up asking in the bistro next door, as this was signposted to us in the directions given from the hotel. Inside the bistro they were also unsure of where Sanctuary Rooms was located. We had tried to call the number given on booking.com for the hotel many times but recieved no answer. I also messaged but did not get an answer until an hour later. Upon further inspection, we realised from photos from the website that we had passed the door previously, but the sign from the picture was no longer there and therefore it was not clear that it was the door that we wanted. One of the instructions was to press the buzzer for sanctuary rooms, but again there was no buzzer for sanctuary rooms, meaning we had to press a random apartments buzzer just to get into the building. Finally, after getting into the building we were able to follow the instructions to get into the apartment and our room. By this point we were very stressed and warm, as we had walked around with our luggage for a while. Upon first inspection of the room, we thought it was very basic and mostly clean. However, we were given 1 toilet roll that was already half used and no spares meaning that there was not a sufficient amount of toilet roll for 2 adults for an afternoon, evening and the following morning. Further to this, the shower was very small and it was a squeeze to get in and out of it. The shampoo and conditioner inside the shower were barely filled and had a tiny amount left at the bottom when we arrived.
