"I did not stay at all."

The place had bug crawling on the couch and a closet with dirty laundry in it. The staff was untrained and unprofessional.

The entire establishment was disgusting. It should be closed down.

We really wanted to like this place, however, the staff make staying there unbearable. So I am being thorough in my review so other people know what they are paying for. The carpets in the room are gross, but the space overall was nice. The water never got hot in the kitchen sink and the air vent was disgustingly dusty. The guy working at night was respectful throughout our trip, but told us the wrong times for breakfast. Besides one other female employee, everyone else was condescending, rude, and take no accountability for outdated/incorrect information. When we showed up for breakfast after our first night, the Breakfast Lady(BL) started cleaning up 5 minutes after we got there. We asked about breakfast and BL rudely tapped the sign in the seating area and continued cleaning up. We told her that we were told wrong times and she acted like we were supposed to know the correct times even though we were told different. We were traveling with kids, so this detail was really important. We ate breakfast elsewhere for the next 3 mornings after that interaction. The attitude was unnecessary. My husband had to go ask the front desk a couple questions and upon walking in, BL stopped vacuuming, but as soon as my husband and another guest started asking the front desk questions, BL started vacuuming again, making it VERY difficult to communicate with the front desk staff. I sat outside one night quietly minding my business with my dog and one of the employees entered the parking lot with their car and stopped 10 feet from me. They rolled down their driver window and stared for a minute and then continued driving. They circled back around another TWO TIMES before I felt extremely uncomfortable and ran inside my hotel room. At about halfway through our stay we stopped in the office for new towels and were given the last couple clean body towels. The guy behind us was also coming in for towels and did not get any because there were none clean and housekeeping was gone for the day. Inside our hotel room was a sign stating the check-out time is 12 Noon, along with other rules. So we naturally thought check-out was 12pm. At 11:15am housekeeping was knocking on our door, naturally I was confused and said we'd be about 15 more minutes as we were finishing loading our cars for a 4 hour drive to the next part of our vacation. My husband stopped in the office and asked about the check-out time because the sign in our room said 12pm. The lady at the front desk was very rude and told him that it was 11am. So he told her about the sign in the room, in which she condescendingly told him that "the nationwide time for check-out is 11am. Everyone knows that," insinuating that we are idiots for thinking otherwise. My husband told her that they need to update the sign in the room and came back to help finish loading up. Upon going back into the office to officially check-out the impudent desk worker told my husband that they were keeping our deposit because we have a cat and they dont allow cats. My husband pulled up the Sonesta website and showed her their own pet policy, stating that cats were allowed. She then doubles down and says that they havent allowed cats in 5 years, to which my husband asked her how he would know that, and she responds stating that my husband is from there; she's seen him before. We are NOT from there. We have never been to Missouri before, we have residency/drivers licenses/license plates from another state, and drove 6 hours to be there. Real weird choice on her part, but ok. My husband tried telling her otherwise and stating why this isn't fair, but she started ignoring him and talking to another employee about something else. When my husband got her attention again, she shooed him away with her hand and told him he can go. We found it really difficult to interact with people who are so ill-mannered and whose thoughts aren't based in reality or fact. I have NEVER in my travels experienced such disrespect and nasty behavior as I have from Sonesta Chesterfield. We will never be back and will honestly think twice about staying at a Sonesta ever again.
