It was fine. Petworth promises so much but delivers far below. The Angel Inn is similar.

It’s not a pub or a restaurant. It’s a weird, disappointing place in between. You can hear what’s going on in the bar as loudly in your room, creating an instant ‘oh no’ moment. I’ve stayed in so many pubs in my time and always been surprised that you can’t hear the merriment from your room. This was the first time it’s come back to bite me.

Staff were excellent, so friendly. Food very good, breakfast outstanding.

One room a bit small

Hôtel très charmant. Calme et très confort. Le personnel est très accueillant et serviable. Super service. La cuisine est excellente que ce soit pour le dîner ou pour le petit-déjeuner.

Chambre avec une porte pour la séparation de la chambre voisine. Cela implique un manque d’isolation…

A. great place to stay overnight. The pub is just lovely, the staff friendly. The food was very good. Highly recommended.

Everything! Central location. Historic stay. Great service. Well-appointed & comfortable room. Good food.

Some meals had potatoes/chips/mash etc included, whereas others had to be ordered as a side and had to pay extra?! Made for an expensive meal. However, food was excellent.
