The Angel Inn, Petworth

The staff, the food the beer. Its a lovely unique inn. We had booked a cosy double but emergency works meant we were housed in Ryde House a wondeful 3 bedroom beautifully appointed and furnished adjacent property.

Ryde house lacked central lighting which would be a problem for readers and knitters. We were too busy for that on our short stay though. Bedside lamps were dusty but property generally clean. Lounge scatter cushions have feather. We moved them to oneside , asthma trigger.

Lovely building , clean facilities , good food especially the cooked breakfast . Staff especially Gemma , Matt and Chris were cheerful and very helpful .

Our room Sweet Chestnut , room 6 was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was excellent . However , there were no chairs and the lighting , a beautiful chandelier and one bedside light was insufficient for the room making it rather gloomy which was a shame .

Extremely good location for all that Petworth has to offer, including Petworth House, and including wonderful walks from the doorstep.
