Great location, room clean. Housekeeping was great

Front desk staff not friendly when checked in. Did not feel safe walking in alone when I checked in.

They give you a price on booking and then they add a ton of taxes and fees. So I paid a lot money more than quoted

Clean and quiet with great breakfast

First room reeked of marijuana, but front desk apologized and moved us to another room. Nearly fell getting out of the bathtub. Really need to have some type of anti slip in the tub. Bed was great. Breakfast had a lot of choices.

We arrived late and left early, so I didn't get to roam or check out breakfast. This is not a luxury hotel. The room had the usual furniture, but was larger than usual so seemed pretty empty. There was dirt and dust on the edges of the room and transition from bathroom to carpet. So there isn't a lot of effort to clean beyond the absolute basics. That doesn't make me feel good about what I COULDN'T see.

There was nothing specifically gross, this place was just generally pretty gross. If you can swing the extra $40, book another option nearby.

I booked a last minute stay at this property thru Expedia. Once booked, I realized that I had booked for the following evening (thank you Expedia calendar for not making the current evening an option). Upon discovering this mistake (less than an hour after making the reservation), I requested cancellation of the reservation. Expedia says they requested the cancellation but the property would not respect this request. I am guessing that having the small amount of revenue my reservation generated them is worth me absolutely avoiding them every time in the future I may need a room in St Charles. Congrats Best Western! You'll never receive a dollar from me again!
