Best Western Plus The Charles Hotel

I am writing about our recent stay at St Charles BW. On Saturday morning, I came to dining room for breakfast arriving at 9:20 for a breakfast that was advertised until 10am. At this time, the pancake machine was turned off, the yoghurt machine was empty, half of the bakery items were missing (bread was available, but no muffins/pastries), the cereal holder was halfway full with only Cheerios. BUT the hot breakfast was fully stocked (Sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, gravy.) I asked the staff member if the yogurt or pancakes would be re-stocked. He said no. I asked why this was the case since there was still a dining room full of people and more people coming in after me, and there was still 40 mins of breakfast service to be completed. He said it would not be restocked and there was a "full hot breakfast". I agreed the hot breakfast was full, but I didn't want a hot breakfast, I would like pancakes and yogurt specifically. He said these were done for today and would not be restocked. He offered to let me speak to his manager, I said I would like that. The manager at the front desk told me the same thing. These items would not be refilled, and that the hot breakfast was fully stocked. The manager suggested that since things like pancakes were an "additional benefit" on top of the regular hot breakfast, then I should be content with "regular hot breakfast". I was not. I specifically and honestly told this manager, that my wife and I DO choose a hotel based on their breakfast menu. The manager did offer to get me a muffin from the kitchen, but said that they were unwilling to restock the pancake or the yogurt machine. Finally, the suggestion of the manager and the dining room staff, was, "There is a Denny's next door, if you would like to go there for breakfast". I asked if they would be willing to pay for this and they said no. We will not be going back to this hotel.

The staff was very friendly, the breakfast they served was very nice. I really liked that they were pet friendly and could take my dog!!!

This is a great place to stay! Room great, breakfast great! All around it is the best place we stayed in the last two weeks!
