Sheraton Dallas Hotel

I really enjoyed interacting with the staff. The bellhops and valets were very helpful for where to go and what to do in my downtime. Great guys.

I like the layout of the rooms and the eating locations on site.

The property could not find my paid room reservation and the desk clerk stated " all booking to our property from bookings.com are incorrect, you need to call booking.com to help find your room". I stated no I did not, I just spoke to the manager, she was able to find my room. Better customer service at the the front desk, especially with they are late arrivals. " Yes we can help You! " should be their attitude!

I just finished up a conference stay here and don't imagine a scenario where I return. I should have taken my check in experience as a preview of things to come. I completed online check-in, but the mobile key had never arrived so I went to the elite check in line (as a platinum). No hello, no thanking me for my loyalty, just asked for room number, then handed me a key, no discussion of the club lounge or other elite benefits. The room key was not even programmed for the club lounge so that required a follow up trip to the front desk for a new key. Then the room, it's tired and beat up, which to an extent, happens in a busy convention hotel if preventive maintenance isn't a priority. However, items like the broken bathroom door locking mechanism and the window curtain that looks like a bloodbath happened in front of it represent an inexcusable lack of attention to detail, and not even on things that took any effort to notice. Additionally, the beds have no fitted sheets covering the mattress. There's no explanation other than saving a few bucks and cutting the time to turn a room. The final insult was my request for an 11:30 checkout (with normal being 11) being denied. In my 15+ years, I've never had a late checkout request for less than an hour denied, including at other convention hotels and even resort properties in Hawaii. A quick check on availability showed rooms remaining for my check out day so their reasoning of availability is questionable. The only silver lining was the Club Lounge, which is surprisingly nice and well stocked given the rest of the hotel. The staff there are lovely, they've been there for a long time and seem to enjoy their jobs. So my take is that as a convention hotel of over 1,800 rooms, they're always going to fill rooms with a captive audience and this reduces the focus on maintaining quality maintenance and welcoming customer service. It's sad as this isn't necessary. I've stayed at large convention hotels with other chains and they still treat every customer as a valuable guest. But, Marriott has been clear, the hotel owner is the customer and the guest is the product offered to the hotel owners.
