Sea Crest Beach Resort

We had a great time. We stayed in Room 218. I forgot to mention this at checkout though...the outlet to the right of the bed didn't work and the light switches didn't work when you entered the room. But...the beach was amazing...went for a swim in the pool and that was amazing! The restaurant on site was amazing too! :) All in all...it was a great mini-vacation.

The hotel is old, tired and dirty. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful but the place is a mess. The rug in the hall outside my door was covered with dirt brought in from outside and it didn’t get vacuumed all weekend. Bathroom sink ran brown water and had hair in it that wasn’t cleaned even when they made up the room. The picture on the wall had gunk on it. There were a couple of worms inching their way across the bathroom floor one night. I flushed them but it got me worried about what else was lurking in the room. The hook on the wall in the bathroom fell off and hit my mom when she tried getting in the shower. We came for an event and the food provided was not good. Wait staff was grouchy. The table cloths used for Friday’s dinner were still on the table for Saturday’s dinner. There were crumbs and spilled food all over them. Overall dirty and poorly run. The beach is beautiful. You should put a screen or fence around the dumpsters in back. They look terrible and are not a good look for the hotel. Details make the difference. Doesn’t look like much thought goes into appearances. Waitstaff in the restaurant and coffee shop were very friendly and attentive. Most of the staff is doing a great job. They just need help. I heard talk about the hotel needing staff and I’d agree. Things are coming apart at the seems and more care and attention is needed.

Hotel is a little run down, and offseason definitely does not offer what it appears the summer may. Ice cream, pizza, and outdoor bar all closed during our stay. The restaurant was very nice, the arcade and indoor pool were decent enough for a little kid. Hotel staff was rude at times, kicking us out of the game room for basically no reason and I think they all could use some customer service training. Wifi was a no password situation, the tvs were nice looking but the cable package offered was from 1998. Airplay didnt work with the TVs to improve what we could watch. Rooms and hallways leading to the room were very dated feeling, mismatched paint, cheap flooring product and dated bathroom really took away from what could have been a better room experience. Overall decent, they seem to be very reliant on the unbelievable location and beautiful sunset, this checked the box for a night away with the family with indoor pool and arcade but definitely not a high end experience that online appears to sell.

There’s a lot of construction going on. They are year-round resort but they were not prepared for customers. There were no lounge chairs out on the decks Facing the ocean no trash baskets outside ,the halls inside the floors were dirty if they want to present themselves as a lovely resort which it always has been, then they need to step up and provide the services that a resort provides.

Great family April vacation getaway. Only minus was the on site restaurant was not prepared for the crowd and was not able to seat guests after 7pm due to being backed up. This put a damper on our first night but all and all the locations is great and the front of house staff very nice.

Our off season experience was just okay. Pool locker room had gone unattended and 1 out of 3 stalls was out of order for our stay. Not the end of the world but I believe they were understaffed, particularly with housekeeping. We did not have dinner there but our breakfast buffet was very good and the staff there was very nice as was the woman at the provisions store. The front desk person barely gave me the time of day and although we requested early check-in we received our call late around 445pm despite 4pm check-in time. Again, not terrible, just not the experience we had hoped for. Our room was clean. The railing on our balcony was one good lean from fully breaking off and causing injury (room 307 if you're reading this). We had high expectations but they fell a bit short.

The restaurant staff was horrible. Refused to seat my grandson and I at 6;45 pm when the restaurant was open til 10 pm Lunch the next day. We waited 15 minutes to be seated and there was only one table occupied in the restaurant at the time. We were finally brought to our table and no one came to take our order! The table next to us had dirty dishes there from previous patrons. We left!

The facilities are beautiful! The scenery magical. We ate at the Lantern and the food was delicious! The one thing that left out the star was something to note- other guests allowed their children to play ‘jackpot’ a ball game in the lobby. In my opinion, although a poor parenting choice, front desk should speak to the children’s parents and request an alternative location or outside. It made it difficult to walk around and for those truly on a night away- these actions took away the ambiance.

Room and service was great. Check in was slightly late and seemed understaffed at front desk. From my experience don’t try checking in before 4 pm because the few stays we always had to wait until after 4 pm. Dinner at The Lantern was fantastic.
