Sonesta Simply Suites Dublin Columbus

Run!!!! This was truly and awful experience my family - three of which are children under the age of 14 said they’d rather sleep in the car. The disgusting room conditions I am fairly certain do not align with the “Sonesta brand” experience. Upon checking in I was asked by the hotel clerk if, “I was scared of dogs” because she said they were staying across the hall and they had a pitbull, Pomski and some other type of dog. (Should have turned and ran) Just plain terrible experience. Corporate must be informed to what is going on at this location. After filing a complaint and waiting for a call back, I waited almost 4 days then called Sonesta Travel Pass back. When I provided my reference number the Sonesta Travel Pass representative said the hotel cancelled my complaint stating I didn’t provide pictures, they emailed me and no refund would be given. THERE WAS NO EMAIL!! Again, I opened two additional complaints, one to reopen my claim for a refund and one again the hotel GM cancelling my complaint without contacting. Received an email from hotel today stating they refund me one day, that she reviewed my pictures and they appeared to be normal wear and tear…ummmh no! Plan on disputing until I receive a full refund. Do yourself a favor and NEVER stay here!!

The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The size of the room was nice. Convenient parking. HBO

The water pressure. The desk chair looked as if it should have been retired long ago. No breakfast. Having the hotel staff ask me if I was checking out early after I had already paid for the day. Also, having the total amount come out of my account twice, which took me a day to get back.

Room was dirty,smelt of weed. It wasn’t as advertised and in very poor condition

The idea is coo but the room was not nice. Looks like old apartments turned into a hotel. It was old and musty smelling. Rust on the vent fans. Floors made your feet black.

Although the guy working the front desk was very friendly once he arrived, the lobby was closed when I got there. It was the strangest thing, and also not mentioned on their site or when booking, but apparently the lobby is closed after 10pm. I have been to a lot of hotels, good and bad, but I have never checked into a hotel late and walk into a dark lobby with a sign that says “call this number for emergency” and had to sit and wait in the dark for someone to come check me in. Like I said, the guy was very nice once he came, but it was just so odd. The rooms were very spacious but didn’t smell great and very dirty. One of our couch cushioned had the whole back peeled off. But the part that made me not stay my second night was the bugs. There was such a bad any problem, huge horse flies flying everywhere and it so smelled terrible it made it hard to sleep.

The room was not great. The one room had an unfinished whole in the ceiling where a fan should be, the carpet was coming up in places, the kitchen floor felt like it wasn’t finished properly, and the room reeked of smoke even thought it was a non smoking room. There was no house keeping which was fine for a short stay. It’s fine if you are young and don’t care , but it is not good for a family.

The guy at the front desk who worked saturday evening was pretty much alone until a manager helped him, but even working alone he was kind and did not get upset that he had so much going on because they were so busy, we will stay here again and shout out to that young front desk worker, you did amazing.

I’m not sure how this property has the rating it does. It was probably the dirtiest place I’ve stayed since I was a broke college student. I thought that any place in Dublin would be pretty clean but I was wrong. Just spend the extra few bucks and stay somewhere else.

The location was great just off highway 270 and 20 minutes away from everything in Columbus the rooms were great well beyond my expectations will definitely be back
