The Georgian Terrace Hotel

Hotel was unable to honor our reservation- first time stay. They did provide a refund on the stay and comped our parking. They seem to have major communication issues amongst the staff.

Great friendly service, spacious accommodations. Everything is great except elevators, too few and slow

We first arrived and were given our room #. When we went to our room, we unlocked our room and walked in on another couple who were already in our room. Still not 100% sure who had the wrong room, but either way, we all had keys to the same room. The front desk gave us a different room, but the room was in poor condition, with “banged up” walls, bathroom and paint. All of the light switches didn’t work, nor did all of the outlets. The top of the bed and all of the baseboards had a lot of dust, which I understand isn’t 100% preventable, but it was ALOT of dust. We didn’t complain while we were there, because we had already been to the front desk because we had to complain about walking in on another couple when we first arrived. We didn’t want to keep complaining, but it was unsettling, afraid that at anytime, someone else could have their keys unlock our room. We were told that management would reach out to us during our stay, and we never heard from anyone. Completely unacceptable when you pay quite a bit for a room per night, and then this happens. We could have stayed anywhere, but chose the Georgian Terrace. This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed here. The 2nd time we stayed was a similar situation, so unless something changes, we will not be returning to this hotel. Very unfortunate for such a historic hotel. We’ve stayed here multiple times because of the location. We’ve stayed multiple times at The Starling and the Wylie Hotel, both in Midtown, and both hotels offered more charm, customer service service and cleaner rooms.

Great location and all the staff were very kind and attentive. We stayed for three nights and we didn’t receive any housekeeping service. We had to ask for towels and coffee for our room was a little difficult to get. Also, our room wasn’t as clean as it should have been. There were dead bugs around the shower and a lot of dust. Again, staff were all lovely, just disappointed in lack of housekeeping.

Let me start off by saying I travel for a living and stay in different hotels across the world weekly. I booked this hotel for a special occasion (my daughter's prom which was being held across the street at The Fox). Our stay was anything but special. I paid extra for early check-in , a high floor, and late check-out and all were approved in advance. When I arrived for early check-in I was told my room wasn't ready and I would need to come back at check-in time in like 4hours. I informed the front desk clerk that the only reason I arrived early was because I had requested early check-in. He rudely said "Yes and that's why its called a request. The rooms not ready". I then showed him that I had confirmation that the request was approved. After that they magically made a call and got a room ready for me within 15mins. The room they gave me was out dated (with worn out furniture and appliances). The room also wasn't the cleanest (stains on the couch and crumbs on the counter in the kitchen). I wanted to ask for another room even if it was later but the attitude of the front desk staff was so unfriendly I just let it go and cleaned the room myself. Getting from your room to the parking garage is a hassle as there are only 2 elevators and they are slow. Then on check out day I was trying to get our things from the room to my car in the parking garage so I asked for a cart so I wouldn't have to make so many trips. The Bellhop was rude and scolded me asking why I needed the cart and for how long and when exactly was I leaving because he didn't want me to keep the cart for longer than a couple of minutes because they don't have a lot of carts. Which brings me to the main reason for my one star review; the staff. The staff was cold, unwelcoming and lacked willingness to help. Anytime I went up to the front desk I was ignored. They weren't busy, there would be no line but they would just ignore me fiddling on their phones or talking to each other. I will never stay here again.

I have stayed at the Georgian Terrace several times and each time the stay exceeds my expectations. The rooms are spacious with elegant marble touches. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Everyone truly wants to please and accommodate all who stay at this landmark hotel.

For the price I paid I asked to have a full kitchen in my apartment. She gave us one out the kitchen and did not even reduce the price. Worst experience I’ve ever had our place of rest and relaxation.

Love staying here. Great location, and the property is beautiful in many ways.

Have stayed several times, and the experience is hit and miss. Sometimes the accommodations are clean and comfortable and surpass expectations, but I have stayed in a suite before that was in desperate need of renovation and felt a bit scary. This last visit, there was never maid service despite it being requested, no clean towels, lightbulbs were burned out, heavy dust on several surfaces. A closet door that stuck, and general lack of cleanliness in the room.
