Shower in bath - if I had known I wouldn’t have booked

Room was tired, bathroom shower screen dirty and brown scum on it, dirty towels, blood on bathroom door, thick limescale on taps and not to mention when we woke up and found suspicious red marks on the sheets. Awful sadly. However the Operations manager did afterwards address the issues and given how bad it was they recognised this with a full refund and we appreciate that. Sadly still have to share so people are aware

To whom it may concern, When talking about the Bed, it was extremely uncomfortable; the mattress was lumpy and hard. The pillows and the quilt cover were very thin. This led me to have a terrible sleep, which resulted in a bad back. The Breakfast was bland; the items included were small and simply not worth the money I was charged. The Location, my bank card, which was blocked, made me unable to buy any more food or make any telephone calls. (my mother and my friends). This meant I needed to return home immediately. All these things made for an extremely bad experience. This meant I could not telephone for a taxi; I had to ask one of the receptionists to order one for me at 10:55, and off I went home early. As soon as I had sorted out my bank card, I contacted the hotel at 14:39, informed the receptionist of the issues that had occurred during my stay, and asked for a full refund. I was informed that I would be contacted within an hour, but this did not happen. So, I contacted the hotel again at 16:37. The lady I spoke to told me that the only thing I could be refunded for was the Breakfast. Another thing which ruined my stay was the fact that I ordered a meal, Hunter's Chicken, when it arrived, the quantity of food did not fit the price being charged. I believe it was not worth the money which the hotel was charging. I asked for my money back. Eventually, the man agreed to give me a refund. I asked, “How long will it take to be put in my account?” He replied, “24-48 hours”. I have not checked my account yet, but I will check it today. I received an email [31/05/2026] which said, “Property’s message: Dear Kelly McCormick, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Novotel Southampton. Your personal satisfaction is our foremost priority. We have received your reservation for 2 days, for Sunday 31 May 2026” If I knew that I was going to have a horrific experience, then I would have never stayed at the hotel. I would like a full refund for my stay.
