Novotel Southampton

The room was spacious, the breakfast had good selection, and the room was kept clean all the time.

Some appliances were faulty like the electric fan.

Excellent location for cruise and shopping.Breakfast was good as was expected.

Our stay was during a very hot period but the hotel didn’t have air conditioning. ( we were prewarned before hand) They did give us a fan. Hotel is a little dated.

My wife and I stayed Saturday 30th May for one night. Location is excellent for Football Stadium City Centre Shopping and Restaurants . On site parking perfect and at a very reasonable price. Novotel its self very clean tidy spacious rooms and comfortable bed and ritual toiletries a bonus. Facilities Swimming pool , Gym very very clean with NO bad odours. ( NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT HOSPITALITY). We were meeting friend's for lunch in city and going out to pop concert in afternoon with time critical agenda. Young team member who has I would imagine been in HOSPITALITY for a while and well trained to high standard made our visit seemless and delivered very high standards being a credit to Novotel . Not sure if this gentleman is part of management team IF NOT OUGHT TO BE. His name is APOSTLOS who excudes care/ listening skills /passion to delivery 5 star service and more important a genuine person. Thank you . Mr G May.

We stayed here the night before boarding a cruise and this was the perfect location for us. We got the train to Southampton and the hotel was a short 5 minute walk from the train station. It's also a short walk to multiple shopping centres and the Bargate area. There were two pieces of cheesecake waiting for us in our room as we were here for our 15th wedding anniversary which was lovely. The toilet was separate to the bathroom and the bathroom had a seethrough type door. This setup is a bit weird as when you go to the bathroom in the night, the light wakes the other person. The hotel rooms don't have aircon but the window opens. Aircon wasn't needed when we were there, but may get hotter in summer. There was good lighting, no noise and plenty of space in the room. A great option for pre or post cruise. Reception kindly ordered us a taxi for the morning and it was there right on time. Service was very good.

The location was ideal.

The staff we encountered were rude and unprofessional and customer service was terrible for a hotel describing itself as 4 star. The room was also far from 4 star.

Die zentrale Lage ist ideal. Man braucht ca. 5 Minuten zu Fuss bis zum Bahnhof / zentralen Busstation. Das Personal is extrem freundlich und hilfsbereich. Die Zimmergrösse (superior Zimmer) ist gut. Es gibt ein Badezimmer und eine getrennte Toilette. Alles war sauber. Zur Strasse hin Doppel-Verglasung, so dass man von draussen nichts hört.

Die Lautstärke der zufallenden Zimmertüren in diesem Hotel war extrem - und die Wände haben jeweils gewackelt wenn jemand das Zimmer verlassen hat. Viel Schlaf bekommt man nicht. Insgesamt ist das Hotel ein wenig renovierungsbedürftig - insbesondere der Frühstücksraum. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis finde ich daher nicht gerechtfertigt.

Stayed 1 night at the Novotel. Superior room (317) was great. Large, comfortable and clean with all amenities. Bed very comfy with choice of pillows. No AC but a desk fan is provided. Train station 2mn walk West Quay shopping centre about 10mn. Old Town similar. Didn't have breakfast so cant comment. Shared spaces are clean and bright too. Reason I marked it as only 4 stars is because they charge me the full.price of the room and didnt take my Accor membership discount into account but I will be back in future if I'm ever in Southampton again.
