Stayed in the suite... perfect choice! Room was very spacious bathroom ++++ Essex House is in the heart of the people!! And I Could not hear any noise .. I would definitely recommend the suites

According to the little notice on the front door, it says please avoid our dust. They are rebuilding the hotel. I got a remodeled room and I think it's the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The staff is friendly and quite attentive. At the front desk, Demetrius addressed a few of my minor concerns and I walked away happy I ate in the hotel restaurant "bacon bitch" a few times and this is the only toss-up during my stay here. They don't have a pool at this hotel, but right next door is the clevelander hotel that they partner with. They have a whole corner of the city block with high tops, several pool bars and a lovely pool. There is also a DJ in the afternoon and the evening and karaoke during the week. The outdoor speakers are horribly loud but then again this is South Beach with a party atmosphere so I understand and give it a pass. This is my fourth trip to miami. My first two trips I stayed in Surfside which is too far from the action. The last two trips I stayed at the national which is closer to Lincoln road. Actually, everything I need is in within two blocks of this hotel. Fabulous fabulous $5 tacos and $9 Margaritas at happy hour at azteca. If I want to quick slice of pizza it's on 11th Street. Ice cream there too. There is a reasonably priced souvenir shop called surf style. There is a mini Mart on 12th Street two blocks away that has everything you'll need for your stay and they have fabulous prepackaged sushi to go for $9 per serving which would be $18 in a restaurant easily. The front desk staff is friendly and attentive. I talked to Demetrius about a couple of minor concerns and he was very involved. I think there's nothing better than opening your curtains in the morning and having a palm tree right beside your window. Yes, I will be coming back to the Essex

Perfect location to shops bars clubs and beach access! The walls of the rooms are pretty thin so just know you can hear everything. But very clean and fun.

Good things: AC worked well, artwork was nice, strong toilet flush, employees polite Bad things: Flooring coming up in bathrm, mold smell in bathrm, dirty cotton swab on shelf in bathrm, 4 guests-only 2 towels, no pool at Essex-only @ Clevelander which is 18+ so we couldn’t use it, ice machine broken, one tiny elevator that was jerky and “droppy”, hot water came and went about every 45 seconds in shower (would continuously go from scalding to very cold), beach chairs-only 2 per room, and location is a hike-also not where they told us-it’s @15th not between 14th and 15th-grey chairs not brown-hut is white with grey stripe, 4 channels on TV, TV remote did not work, phone in rm did not work, hallway carpets filthy, HVAC vents filthy…the place is a dump, basically.

Well we were delayed and checked in at 12:30 in the morning and the girl was half asleep and took forever to get us registered. The rooms look NOTHING like what we saw online. Outlets were falling out of the wall, pipes were duct taped and there was Zero water pressure for the shower and the showers were either freezing or so hot you couldn’t stay in. There was a dirty Qtip on the bathroom shelf and the floor was still covered in sand. We went to the beach and asked about chairs and they sent us on a wild goose chase. I would NEVER stay here again nor would I recommend to anyone.
