Hampton Inn Birch Run

I thought the people that worked there were very nice.

The pictures on the property showed a hot tub. There was no hot tub which was very disappointing. We were told one water heater was down and if we wanted a hot shower we needed to get up early before it was gone. We got there and the elevator was not working. The coffee in the morning was very cold. It felt like maybe it was there all night. I actually had another guest mistake me for a worker and they complained the coffee was like warm. It wasn’t just one day, it was both. You can’t access regular channels. I was unable to get nbc to watch Sunday night football. On Monday night I was able to get the game on in my room but not the lobby. You had to ask to get them to restock items at breakfast.

It wasn't crowded.

Our room had the interstate right behind it. You could hear the traffic all night. The room itself needed cleaning. Previous occupants had left behind items in drawers. The breakfast was atrocious. Skipped the breakfast and grabbed some fruit instead. When I asked where to park the desk clerk said door number 2, but it doesn't work well in cold weather. They're in MICHIGAN!! Of course it's going to be cold! Don't you think you may want to have that repaired??? The hotel needs a total update from top to bottom.

The staff was friendly, helpful and hard working.

The online pictures showed a hot tub with the pool, there was not a hot tub on site. We had trouble using our room key in the exterior doors, which was disappointing because it was so cold outside. No gluten free items at breakfast.

I was beyond impressed with how clean it was. Especially for the price in Michigan it is genuinely hard to find an affordable hotel with good cleanliness!! Their breakfast was a wide verity good for all ages as well. The pool was a bit cold but considering how close it was to the front desk I’m impressed it wasn’t ice, the pool room was warm water just took a second to adjust too! The beds looked brand new, bathroom was spotless. Just honestly overall impressed I won’t recommend another hotel besides this one again that’s for sure!! The lady at the front desk was also super sweet & checked us in fast!!

Almost everything about this stay was unacceptable. The room was not clean, and my friend woke up with multiple bites that appeared to be from bed bugs. Instead of apologizing or helping, the staff made excuses and repeatedly told us that no one could do anything until a manager came in on Monday. For a hotel that was this busy, it is completely unacceptable that no manager or competent staff member was on site all weekend. The situation was handled very unprofessionally. My friend had to miss work, go to the doctor, and pay for medication because of the bites. We did not receive a refund, and Booking.com never contacted me back about the issue - two calls even resulted in them hanging up on me. For such a serious problem, the lack of accountability was shocking. There were additional issues that made the stay even worse. The TV did not work despite being advertised with screen-casting. After insisting, I was sent a maintenance person who couldn’t fix anything and simply left. Also, the mattress protector was zippered and zip-tied shut, which is a huge red flag that the property has dealt with bed bug issues before. Overall, the experience was disgusting, stressful, and handled with zero professionalism. I would not recommend this hotel - at all.

Staff was great. Room clean, breakfast was good. Pool looked good. Location to shops and downtown Frankenmuth reasonable for the price.
