"Супер готель!!!"

10.0

"An amazing honeymoon"

10.0

Me and my wife visited here on our honeymoon and we had the absolute best time! The hotel from start to finish was almost faultless, some top benefits included 1. Reserved sun loungers - at first you might not get the ones in the best spot, but they are great at letting you know when preferred spots will become available and reserving them from that date. This made getting a lounger so less stressful, and meant we could sleep in a bit later without the fear of missing out on a sunbed. You could also get fresh pool towels every day 2. The food… wow! There’s a range of restaurants available, we only visited the pan-Asian and American diner twice because the buffet food was so good. A variety of nights at the buffet - Cypriot, Asian, Mexican and Indian. The food was all so nice and wasn’t samey at all. There was a huge selection of drinks on the all inclusive menu that were always made really well. 3. Cleanliness - there was not a spot of rubbish around the pool. The rooms were cleaned twice a day, with fresh towels twice a day. 4. Staff and entertainment - all staff were so friendly and helpful. They really made you feel welcomed and catered for. There was a live singer every evening and different shows on (we attended the queen one which was excellent)! The only criticism is the drinks service at meal times was a bit chaotic, but this is a minor blemish on an unforgettable experience.

"Amazing family hotel with serious pool safety concerns"

8.0

Before mentioning all the positives about this hotel, I feel it is important to address a serious pool safety concern we experienced during our stay. Over multiple days we repeatedly observed lifeguards distracted on mobile phones instead of actively supervising the pools and slides. This was not a one-off incident and was concerning to witness in such a busy family resort where many parents naturally assume the pools are being properly monitored at all times. As parents of young children, this genuinely worried us because drowning can happen silently and within seconds, especially with children. During one incident, my daughter suddenly went out of her depth and began struggling in the water while I was occupied with my 1-year-old and my son. When I looked over for assistance, the lifeguard responsible for supervising the area was distracted on his phone and I had to immediately intervene myself. Thankfully she was okay, but it reinforced how important active supervision is around pools. We raised our concerns with management multiple times during the holiday. To be fair to the hotel, management did appear to take the issue seriously and we did notice an improvement in attentiveness from some of the lifeguards before we left. I sincerely hope these standards are maintained consistently going forward because this hotel has so much to offer families and pool safety is incredibly important in a child-focused resort. If any future guests witness lifeguards distracted on phones around the pools or slides, please report it to management immediately. Raising concerns about pool safety is not about complaining for the sake of it — it is about being proactive and advocating for children’s safety before something preventable happens. This review is not intended to attack individuals or complain for the sake of it. We genuinely love this hotel, which is exactly why I felt it was important to mention. Guest safety should always come first and concerns like this should always be taken seriously and addressed proactively. Now onto the positives, because overall we really did have a lovely holiday. This was our second stay at Olympic Lagoon Paphos after returning to celebrate our daughter’s 1st birthday. We have been visiting Cyprus for the last 5 years and even got married there, and overall this is honestly one of the best family hotels we have stayed in. The adjoining rooms were an absolute lifesaver travelling with 3 children and I would highly recommend them to larger families. The themed food nights were fantastic with different cuisines each evening including Indian, Chinese, Mexican and BBQ, and even as a very fussy eater I always found plenty to eat. The staff are what truly make this hotel special. Leoni on reception is one of the kindest, warmest and most genuine people we have met on any holiday. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her and she somehow always seems to have time for every guest without ever making you feel like just another room number. She goes above and beyond constantly and often seems to be helping with everybody else’s jobs as well as her own, yet still remains calm, welcoming and genuinely caring throughout. Our children absolutely adored her and looked for her every day. Efi in the restaurant always had our drinks ready each morning which added such a lovely personal touch, and Oleesa in the snack area works unbelievably hard and always goes above and beyond for guests with a smile on her face. Mario in the restaurant was also amazing and even prepared and blended meals specially for our daughter. Staff like this are the reason people return. Despite the concern mentioned above, we still had a lovely holiday overall and there are so many wonderful members of staff who make this hotel a very special place for families. Put that on plz

"Fabulous holiday and amazing spa treatments"

10.0

We have gone back to the Olympic Lagoon for the past 3 years, since getting married there in May 2024. Each time we have used the spa facilities and had treatments, which are honestly the best I have ever had. This time I had the 40 minute lime and ginger exfoliating scrub with the lovely Georgetta, which I would highly recommend. The staff are so professional and lovely. Georgetta is amazing and so experienced. Thank you to all the staff for another fabulous holiday.

"Overall ok but had higher expectations taking into account the relatively expensive price."

9.0

Friendly staff and overall very nice atmosphere. Very nice experience overall.

The food selection could have been more versatile. Got a bit tired of the buffet food on day 4. Prefer also larger selection of berries. I prefer also going after drinks yourself instead of waiting.

"Definitely 5 star"

10.0

We loved every part of the hotel.the rooms are lovely.we stayed for our honeymoon from 25th may. Can't fault the staff. The only bar where we waited awhile was the pool bar. I agree with people saying about getting walked to your table, dont see the point unless its packed. Food was amazing. The Italian restaurant was a nice experience but maybe abit to posh for us haha. We would consider coming back at some point.

"Magical"

10.0

Simply our happy place. Another visit to where we had our anniversary 10 years earlier and this place is just as magical. The staff are truly just here to care for you from start to finish. Nothing is too much trouble. It is simply the most wonderful holiday resort. Lovely views, brilliant staff, gorgeous food, tremendous entertainment. Least we forget the gorgeous walk to Paphos harbour. As we did 10 years earlier we were made to feel like a king & queen. Totally spoilt. Special mentioned to Bhem Bahadu (I think) from housekeeping who took care of us. I’ve stayed in multiple Kanika hotels across Cyprus and this is the best.

"Disappointed, more than that DISGUSTED"

4.0

First the positives the hotel has been newly refurbished, the room internally was nice, the pools look great the gardens look lovely, the staff with very few exceptions are exceptional, especially the lady on Thursday that partially cleaned our room after we’d both been very, very poorly the night before with D&V! Now the negatives, we only ate in the hotel and we only swam in the hotels pools, what we had was definitely as a result of eating in the Asian restaurant or from the Lower adult pool! We were very ill indeed overnight, and the next day stayed in our room all day! The room cleaning people reported it to the management and they sent a note saying for me to contact reception, I went to reception and a very apologetic minor manager said nobody else had reported feeling ill, I knew that to be a lie because before we were ill, a man sitting behind us said he’d spent a day in his room with D&V, then a couple we spoke to said they’d been ill! She said if there is anything we can do, so as it has spoiled our holiday, and because we’d lost confidence with the hotel, perhaps they could let us extend the room on the last day, they said 50% off we said no, eventually they did say yes, but only until 5pm! Whilst we were waiting for the bus the same manager was asking how another hotel guest was, he was saying how ill he’d been , her response was: nobody else had reported feeling ill! At this point I confronted her and said that’s an outright lie, and told the guest that she had said the same to us, she looked embarrassed when she realised who I was! Disgusting behaviour! Someone with a serious health condition could die from something like that! I said I think you need to take this seriously and not keep telling people that! Also so many wedding parties with Stag like groups of men getting drunk and shouting all day!!! The partial sea view from our window was as pics and the bottom pool had a layer of green slime and grease around the edge, the water was really cloudy, see pics. Lastly, the escorts to the tables in the dining room are totally unnecessary, and the sun bed allocation system does NOT work, people were arguing all the time about the sometimes triple booked beds! The management response: we were NOT advised by Jet2 to seek medical assistance because by the time the rep rang symptoms had passed

"Lovely location"

8.0

The hotel is ideally situated and we were very excited to be staying somewhere a step up from the Avanti over the road where we usually stay. We stayed in the Fisherman’s Village with our own plunge pool which gave access to the serenity pool. We were allocated a sunbed at the serenity pool for the duration of our stay but there was a mix up and another couple were also allocated the same bed. The pool guys sorted it out quickly and it didn’t become a problem. The sunbeds, while comfy do require some attention as there was damage to quite a few of them. I’ve attached a picture. It’s inevitable that this will happen when lots of people are using them but not expected from a 5* resort. Our room was lovely, plenty big enough and the shower powerful. However considering it’s a refurbished room some of the finishing left a lot to be desired. They could do with someone to come and silicone neatly and it would look 100% better. We found our own pool area very hot indeed. You don’t get the benefit of the breeze from the sea and also the plunge pools are very cold. We did sit out in this area but not as much as hoped. Also I did seem to attract midges and ended up with numerous itchy bites after sitting out until late one evening. This put me off doing it again. The food is great. We especially enjoyed the Indian themed night which is on Mondays. As others have said it’s hard sometimes to get a drink in the restaurant and the bars and you can wait a significant amount of time for a drink. I also don’t understand what the purpose of the people who show you to a table is. They’d be better utilised helping to serve drinks. We had a problem with the TV and internet which was sorted out very quickly and they explained that they needed to get the outside internet people in to sort it out which they did. As said before we had a real issue getting served a drink in the bars. We were encouraged not to go the bar and to wait for a waiter to serve you at table. While this is nice in theory, in practise it means they needed a lot of staff to service it and they didn’t have enough. It wasn’t unusual to wait 10 minutes for a waiter and then a further 20 minutes sometimes to get the drink. We did mention this to a manger and he said it would be fed back. But nothing changed. Also the lad in the adults only bar was doing everything, taking the orders, making the drinks then serving them. Too much for one person in my opinion. We watched a couple of shows with the Bon Jovi tribute and the O show absolute highlights. The singers in the other bar areas were also really good. We dined in the themed restaurants and our favourite there was the Asian restaurant, seriously good food. I have read the comments about the amount of weddings and agree with all of them. Too many. As each new wedding group arrived it was like being in Benidorm, attendees were in party mode and we get this but were not expecting it from from this hotel where we had hoped it would be chilled. We had people in the room next to us bombing in the plunge pool, screaming, shouting and just generally being very loud from mid afternoon until late evening. It’s a good job the patio doors had good soundproofing but it meant we didn’t really want to sit out at all. Also as has been said as the family groups congregated this caused lots of noise and disruption for other guests. I do totally understand why they want to do this but it really does impact the guests not there in a group for a wedding. It is for this reason that we probably won’t return to the Olympic Lagoon in Paphos. Still on the hunt for a proper 5* chilled hotel in Paphos.
