Stunning ocean and golf course views, walkable to many nearby beachfront shops and locations. Beautiful area of the Algarve.

I have travelled most of the globe for business and personal reasons. In all my years of travelling, this is the most honest and respected hotel I have come across. I booked 2 rooms, in an unforeseen circumstance, I was unable to use the second room even thou I paid for it and was non-refundable. Despite this, the hotel understood my personal reasons and fully refunded me £1200. What other hotel would do this without incurring a penalty. The staff are so nice and respectful. I wish this hotel and the staff all the success. Gob Bless you all. Thank you.

A lovely property in a great location with fabulous staff and a fantastic breakfast

A beautiful hotel the perfect stay. We were only here for a very short trip in between work commitments. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was extremely clean, our room was lovely over looking the golf course but we could also see the sea. The breakfast was perfect everything from fruit & Yoghurt to eggs cooked anyway, a full cooked breakfast and pastries. Bar/snack menu also great. We shall definitely return but next time for longer.

The hotel is not 5 stars it is also dirty and not clean . We were also put in an old horrible room that looked nothing like the photos.

We were greeted at reception by Leonardo, who was exceptional and really took care of us. Melani was also of great assistance during our stay. We however found that some of the pool and breakfast staff members lacked experience. We stayed in a premium room with golf/sea views. The room was luxurious and the views from the small balcony were simply wonderful The super king sized bed was so comfy. Water and tea/coffee were replenished on a twice daily basis Breakfast at the Kamal restaurant overlooking the outdoor pool with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean was just wonderful The selection of food was fresh, varied and of a very high standard. A choice of eggs was also available to order. Breakfast was available from 7-10.30 which was great The choice & standard of food at the pool bar was good. There were plenty of sun beds available at the pool area and a good supply of towels. Parts of the pool decking were unsafe. The pool was great though a little chilly . Definitely not for the faint hearted. The hotel lobby, bar and restaurant have all been renovated and are beautiful but there are parts of the hotel that need updating. There was no entertainment in the hotel bar and There’s also no gym. The hotels location is fantastic being next to the Praca and a stones throw from the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay The little extras could move this hotel up to the next level

We stayed here for a week in Aug . When we arrived they gave us an older room but we paid to upgrade and had one the nicest rooms we’ve ever had ( Conrad hotel included . ) The breakfast was lovely , needs upgrading in places but this hotel will be amazing . We will be back. ❤️

I wish to thank Melani and all the staff for making our stay at the Dona Filipe Hotel so special, we first stayed with you in 2015 and have been back several times since. As always the staff make us feel so welcome, the breakfast is one of the best around with cook to order omelettes a true speciality!! The rooms are spacious with marvellous views of the ocean. We went for golf included package this time , we played San Lorenzo which is one of the best designed courses in the Algarve with fabulous ocean views. We are looking forward to our next visit already

Lots of positives but for the price this hotel need to up their game to compete with other 5 star hotels. Maybe they don’t feel the need to as they have a monopoly in the area being the only hotel? Positives include the location - great views and right next to the beach and an array of restaurants/ bars. I’ve stayed in both the modern and classic/ outdated rooms - both are spacious but aesthetically the modern ones much nicer. A big negative is the noisy air con units. So noisy we had to turn them off to be able to sleep but then the room got too warm and stuffy. The staff around the pool bar are inexperienced and a little slow. Didn’t seem to notice when things needed clearing away etc They seem like they need some training. The pool is a good size and temperature with plenty of sun beds. The decking around the pool was old and worn with loose boards which was potentially dangerous. I would return for the location and spacious rooms and bathrooms but do think the place needs a bit of attention and a revamp in places. Either that or reduce the price.
