Inn on the Square

The Inn on the Square is in a great location. There are many shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The place for breakfast there is also very good and fairly priced. The front desk staff wasn't overly helpful. The Inn doesn't have amenities such as silverware or plates. We were hoping to take advantage of those for snacks on the patio that our room had.

Overall a nice property. Lack of elevator in the cottage section made it difficult to get to my room on the second floor. No mention of it either.

When we arrived, the room had a musty odor with a slight cigarette smell. We open the windows to air it out, which did make it somewhat better. We found the bathroom tile and shower area to have cracked grout and mold. The one bright point was that the beds were comfortable. The worst part of the experience was that the person in the room above us was an early riser and up and about by 4:30 AM. Then they proceeded to pace around for the next two hours on the creaky old hotel floors. My wife and I were not able to sleep during this time as the creaky floors were quite loud.

Good location, needs renovations.

Avoid any room with an entry/exit door. They slam loudly and can be accessed at all hours of the day or night with a card key. We mentioned it to the staff, who smiled and did nothing to assist us.
