Hotel Riu Plaza Miami Beach

Amazing view!

We came for 3 nights for a wedding. It was just ok. The elevator being the biggest flaw. Too many guests for only 2 elevators.it was a long wait each time we had to take it. Our room was ocean view with a balcony. The view was nice. The linens and towels were stained and there was a toenail on the floor. The beds were comfortable. The morning buffet was pretty chaotic. A lot of choices but nothing made me want to go back. Lots of seating around the pool but a smaller pool than what we expected. Location was convenient. I guess for Miami prices this is standard. I just wouldn’t return.

The one thing that I have to mention about this hotel is their water pressure. Almost all hotels have little water flow and little pressure. It is normal, but this only hotel got the biggest water flow. It was amazing to take a shower that was more comfortable than own home. I have never seen a hotel with the water flow. It was so comfortable

We enjoyed a great stay at the Riu Plaza Miami Beach in late September 2025. We particularly enjoyed the flexible dining arrangements on half board, the pool and beach amenities and the excellent service from every one of the great staff. Our room was spacious and well-equipped. Two opportunities for improvement: our arrival experience was poor as the parking was full, I was directed to a hotel three blocks away who demanded over $100 in cash only! And I got soaked walking back. Our room was fitted with a modern smart TV - with dreadful picture quality straight out of the 1980s. We watch 4K and 8K video at home - this TV service was obsolete 20 years ago.

We have stayed at the RIU Plaza Miami Beach several times over the last few years. Always a wonderful experience! Hotel has great location and amenities. Everything is clean and well kept. Staff is always friendly and helpful! Breakfast buffet is delicious as is the food and snacks at Alligator Bar. Lucas and other staff at front desk are fantastic and always eager to help and accommodate our needs/requests. Will be back there soon!

Bernardo the front desk agent should be at the back of house. I walked to the front desk to check in & three agents were on the desk, i approached Bernardo, he saw me coming & was deep in conversation with his colleague. The colleague glanced at me nodded his head & i said hello. Bernardo was still deep in conversation, didnt acknowledged me or even said hello i will be with you shortly. I stood there for what seemed to be a good minute & a half before he turned his head & acknowledged me. That left a bitter taste in my mouth. I have visited other Rui properties & never experienced that kind of behavior. I dont think he needs training his behavior is innate. On our last morning i wasnt feeling well & my room mate went to the desk to ask where he could get some water, Bernardo was there, flat out said he didnt have any. My roomie ask if there was a water fountain cause it was urgent he got some water. It was the lady at the desk that said she could get us some water. Now thats elevating the guest experience.

The pool was very nice. The beach was easily accessible.

Myself and my siblings we did enjoyed ourselves dispite the fact that we’re people of color and we were having brunch at the facility restaurant, after paying our bill we left the restaurant. A server walked us down asking if we payed our bill. I was very upset but I still managed to say yes we did. That wasn’t nice at all, I worked very hard, 16 hrs everyday to make this trip possible for my siblings, so yes I was upset. Nevertheless we didn’t let that incident stop us from enjoying our time at the hotel. I am a picky eater but I found food on every occasion that suited my pallet at the restaurant and main dining room. The valet service was very good, we had no issues with our car.The bathroom tiles are very slippery it’s an accident waiting to happen, even though the bars are there, it doesn’t stop a person from sliding,also there’s a nasty smell coming from the bathroom I think it could be the drainage, it’s not nice at all. Thanks for your service I will visit again soon
