Hotel Riu Plaza Miami Beach

Hotel needs updating in comparison so other Riu hotels. Very clean however and housekeeping were very good. Food for breakfast was average, no avocado or salmon usually seen in other Riu. going after nine was a nightmare way too busy and hard to get a table. Worst part was for 90% of the week only one lift worked others kept breaking and being seven months pregnant and on the tenth floor this was not ideal. Also we are RIU gold class members and resisted a free late check out room til 3pm before arriving and on checking in as our flight home was 11pm. they told us to ask on check out day and when we did no rooms available, when this is part of being a gold member and already asked about it you would expect this to be available. pool and beach area were very nice, always sun beds available.

We had a wonderful stay at Riu Miami Beach before our cruise. Excellent room & services. Pool area was really nice with direct access to the amazing beach & we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the sunbeds with a cocktail watching the lizards meandering around. There is a bus stop directly outside for the free trolley bus (middle beach loop) to downtown & the Lincoln Road with restaurants & shops. We really like the Riu hotels and Miami Beach did not disappoint :-)

Overall a great place to stay. Only issue, the ceiling fan did not work. We reported it twice and no one came to fix it. 1 of 3 elevators was not working which caused delays.

2nd Visit to Miami Beach…A minor inconvenience…Still Great! We returned to this hotel for my Birthday Celebration. We love this property for the reason many others did not. We joined RIU Class membership because of the way we were treated at this “Plaza” site. I understand that most of RIU International are “all inclusive” resorts and a Plaza Property is not. If this is one of their lesser properties; we were very impressed. The hotel has, I believe, 284 rooms on ten floors. It is a classic 1940’s Deco property that has been meticulously updated. Because of the intimate size; it is more welcoming than a large corporate hotel (I would rather stay here than the Faena next door). It has a classic European resort vibe. You will meet world travelers who appreciate the value for money and attention to guest satisfaction that the management and staff provide. The accommodations are well maintained. The beds very comfortable. The grounds and common areas immaculate. Breakfast and dinner buffets were sumptuous and a great value for the area. The Pool and Alligator Bar are cozy/relaxing with great service. This is just steps from the Miami Beachwalk and they have their own beach area with umbrellas and lounge chairs. Reception is well-staffed and helpful. Service throughout the hotel is excellent. During our stay both passenger elevators went out of service briefly. The “service” elevator was utilized for guests. This was a MINOR inconvenience that the staff mitigated with style and grace. All of the staff (including Security and the Asst. GM) pitched in to calm the situation and assist the guests. Housekeeping managed to move supplies without displacing guests on the elevator. One of the passenger elevators was quickly restored during our 5 day stay. We treated our local family who live in the area to the buffet dinner and were not disappointed. Food and drink throughout Miami Beach can be expensive. Our Family members were treated exceptionally well and for a reasonable price. We stayed at this property from October 23rd to 28th of 2025. Through the RIU website I had briefly requested an upper floor with a full ocean view room as this was Birthday Celebration. We received one of their best rooms on the 7th Floor facing the beach that did not disappoint. A final note, I would like to thank and compliment the Managers of this property (GM, AGM, and F&D M) for their attention to detail and for hiring and retaining the EXCEPTIONAL STAFF that supports them. This includes: The Front Desk – Bernardo and Lucas were extremely helpful (GOAL! Lucas) The Dining Room – Sarah, Christian, and Jesus. All of whom remembered us from our previous visit and made us feel like family. The Assistant GM – Janneth I believe. You were ever-present during the elevator mishap. Always visible on the floor not secluded in the office. Leading from the front. Accomplishing this very coordinated feat of guest satisfaction is a TEAM EFFORT worthy of notice. When we return to Miami Beach…We will only stay at Hotel RIU Plaza Miami Beach!

Hotel check was quick and painless! Breakfast was delicious with a large selection! Pool area was nice water was cool and refreshing! Room was nice and clean and room cleaning was done promptly everyday!

A very good hotel with friendly staff and top-notch service. The Rui Plaza Miami Beach made our trip perfect.

Great hotel which includes breakfast ideal location as bus stop right outside where you can get to North,South and mid beach on the trolley free of charge. The main bus stop was right outside for the bus to Mall and mainland Miami for $2.25 each way

We didn’t have a beach view 😕 but the street side was very noisy, all day and all night lol… The actual hotel was nice, it rained a lot so we didn’t get to do much beach stuff but it was literally feet from the beach.

Beach was ok. Room was ok. Didnt have breakfast. Staff was nice

From the moment I arrived, everything was wonderful! The service was great, the place was immaculately clean, and breakfast had so many tasty options. I truly enjoyed my stay and would absolutely come back again! Shout out to Lyli at the front desk!
