"Beautiful Resort and Beach"

10.0

There part was absolutely stunning with the best beach on Aruba. The place was so clean. 24/7 security at the beach entrance. 2 large pools. Adults only. Staff was all so friendly and hard-working. I highly recommend getting the elite club so you can make reservations for dinner so you don’t have to wait in line at 5:30 witheverybody else and possibly not get a spot at dinner. It was also only a five minute walk to a downtown area if you wanted to get off Property. Highly recommend this Resort.

"RIU Palace Antillas Aruba"

8.0

This was a really good pick for a short vacation. The resort was located within walking distance of restaurants, shopping areas and nightlife. The resort and the room were clean. The bed was comfortable and the room provided adequate space. There was a great view of the ocean and the pool area from room 1100 which is located in the Elite area of the resort. The room has 2 balcony’s, king size bed, double vanity, and shower with hand held sprayer, well stocked mini fridge and in room alcohol dispenser. The pools were nice not too busy. Was able to find a chair late in the morning. The beach was pretty nice also. If you have the elite arm band you can hang out at the elite pool which was very quiet. Didn’t see more than 10 people in the pool at any given time. Ate at the Italian restaurant the first night, the food was great. The mussels were a show stopper. They were the best I have ever eaten. They could have been the main meal. The shrimp fettuccine alfresco and shrimp spaghetti was pretty good. Second night was Krystals. The food here was also really good. Not quite as good as the Italian restaurant. The Elite Club Lounge provided a Great Meal. If you are booking the Elite Club make sure you stop in here for a meal. The Steakhouse restaurant was some what over rated. The lobster mac & cheese was a bust. Not what I was expecting at all. Suggestion would be to change that recipe. Had a few breakfasts at the buffet. If you are sitting in the elite area you can place your order. The staff was great all around!! Thanks to everyone from housekeeping to the towel collector at the pool. Thanks for a job well done. The bad side of it all was the long wait to get checked in at the elite desk. Had to stand in line about 40 minutes to get a room. The standard side was a lot quicker. Getting clean towels in the room was a major issue. Having clean towels is a must and should be a lot easier to get. The room doesn’t need to be cleaned daily but clean towels need to be available. Waiting in line for dinners was not too bad, just to be on the safe side try to be in line no less than 15 minutes prior to opening. You can normally make the first wave of individuals getting seated. Last but not least is the idea of the pool closing at 1900. I understand that maintenance and cleaning of the pool is required but why limit individuals on vacation. I would visit this resort again.

"Not what it used to be"

4.0

The location of this resort is one of the best- the beach beautiful. The pool and drinks at the lobby bar are all amazing factors- However I was dissapointed in the food. The food at this resort USED to be so good. Having to wait in line early to get seating at the on-site restaurants is not fun and a complete bummer when you cant get a seating -then have to venture elswhere to eat. We did get in to the Italian restaurant -it was not good. The afternoon lunch /buffet in the arubian restaurant area is the best. honestly this selection should be duplicated at night as a dinner choice. The steakhouse was very enjoyable but then again we had to wait in the long line to get a table at a seating time. The rooms are cleanish- our room had a dirty shower upon arrival and getting towels daily was a pain as they were not always available when the rooms are cleaned. The adults swim up bar is filthy- no one gets out to use the bathroom; only to assume lots of people swimming in urine and getting too drunk to realize. There were many loud groups of people bringing their own speakers to the pool which was so annoying when you are trying to enjoy the quiet and relax. SMOKING was everywhere - vaping, smoking cigarettes; cigars. When you don't smoke you do not want to sit next to that chimney all day. honestly I will never stay here again- I have stayed here (2) times before and it was great- this place is going downhill...The last straw was when a young man and his family walked across the pool patio and spit - yes he spit and his sister gave the mother the finger and the mother yelled an explative and told her kids to keep moving. No more. I'm good.

"Location is wonderful. Elite club is not worth the money."

4.0

I love the ocean view and the easy access to the beach. I like they had a casino and a variety of restaurants to choose from if you did not want the buffet . I also liked the fact that I can rent Water sports on the beach.

My room was not clean. I stepped on a clipped toenail immediately upon check-in. I had to wipe down the light switch switches in door handles because there were smudges and dirt on them. The mirror had smudges and fingerprints. The curtains had stains on it. Room service was not 24 hours a day as stated. I had a day where I was told it was unavailable at 11:40 at night. The blanket I requested came up, smelling like cigarettes and it was dirty so I didn’t use it. It took three calls to get a new one the next day and it seemed anytime I had something to say I was dismissed. One of the room service women was not very nice to me, though. I was being polite to her during an interaction. I really wish there was a bar and food available for us on the beach that we didn’t have to go all the way back inside or to the outdoor Food area. The key cards didn’t work multiple times during the trip.

"Very misleading Resort."

2.0

Poor Riu Facility I previously stayed at a Riu resort in Costa Rica and had a fantastic experience, which is why we decided to try another Riu property. We enjoy visiting a different country each year, but after this experience, I'm not sure I would choose a Riu again. One of the biggest disappointments was the lack of entertainment. There was no foam party, no white party, and the overall entertainment program was underwhelming. The activities around the pool were especially boring, and the evening entertainment was not much better. During my stay from the 10th to the 16th, karaoke was offered on two separate nights, which was not enjoyable and felt like a poor substitute for more engaging entertainment options. The service at the bars was also disappointing. The bartenders often seemed unhappy and uninterested in providing good customer service. I tip generously and consistently throughout my stay, but it made no difference in the level of service I received. One day, I went to get a beer at the pool bar at 6:05 p.m. and was refused service, which seemed unreasonable. This was especially frustrating after I had gone out of my way to help by collecting cups left around the pool area. Another issue was our room's shower, which smelled strongly of sewage. I reported the problem to the front desk in person shortly after arrival, but nothing was done to address it. If someone came to inspect it while I was away, the issue certainly was not fixed, nor were we offered another room. The one bright spot of the resort was the food, which was consistently good and enjoyable. Overall, this resort lacked enthusiastic employees, quality entertainment, and the level of service I expected based on my previous experience with Riu. I even have an email to the assistant general manager Lucia Schilkowske but no response after my first email.

"RIU Palace Aruba"

2.0

Honest review here. Please research your options before staying here. The food was disgusting. We tried 4 restaurants and after getting sick twice, we knew we had to leacmve the resort. We stayed in a ground floor villa with Elite status. After the attendant threatened us numerous times about losing our bands and that we would have to pay $250 to replace them, we made our way to our villa. It was basic. It was dirty, dank, and no towels. I called front desk twice and tgey never brought towels. We were there a total of 3 full days and two half days. They cleaned our room and emptied trash 1 time and I had to call and prompt them. The ac was set and we didnt really mess with it, but all of our clothes were wet. It was like the ac really wasn't working in terms of filtering out humidity. So much so, that uou always had to becareful not to slip on tile floor. The fixtures were rusty and the laminate furniture was stained and bubbling. Being on the ground floor was nice, however, the balcony sliding door had no lock or a bar. We had to wedge a chair in it. On our last day check out was at 11, however, they knocked on our door 3 times starting at 10 to try and get us out. Our transfer to the airport was at 12:05 and flight wasn't until 3:45. So we spent most our last day at the airport. Adults only. Hmm, not sure what their age limit is on adult but we saw what looked to be teenagers almost every night drunk and running around. One night they were all puking. The security guard did nothing about it. Overall, it was a really bad experience and way overrated and over priced for what you got. I wouldn't recommend the Riu Aruba to an enemy.

"A 2.5 Star resort in disguise"

6.0

For a 4 star all-inclusive, I was surprised at how many basic issues were not easily resolved. I had to update my key card, at least once a day. The elevator wait times and the times that they were unusable was too much to count on one hand. My family and I were surprised at the low quality food at the restaurants. We chose this destination and hotel for my father’s 70th birthday. Even a 3 star resort would have given them a cake or some sort of treat as a welcome. None of that happened. The hotel beach towel policy and the fact that the staff didn’t seem to have any autonomy to make their own decisions. The amount we paid was not worth what was received. I would've rather stayed at a nice resort where breakfast is included and gone out to dinner. The best thing about the resort is the location, the proximity to the beach and it is right next to the St. Regis which is a night and day difference.

"We ended up having a great time"

8.0

Great hotel and perfect location.

First of all we get there and we get two twin beds. Not a great start. Then the only other complaint is that they have a steak restaurant that everyone wants to go to. You have to get in line 45 minutes before they open to get a table that night. We were not going to stop having fun to stand in line to maybe eat at this restaurant. They should allow each room one night reservation then have it first come first serve.
