Ports of Call Resort

It was our first time visiting Turks and Caicos and Ports of Call Resort was absolutely perfect! Yes this is a budget friendly hotel but for an island as expensive as Turks, it exceeded our expectations. Even though it looks like a motel, it is cute and convenient. The rooms are clean, the resort is near everything you could need including restaurants, stores, and a supermarket. Grace Bay Beach is a 10 minute walk away - at a leisurely stroll. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was included in the price. This is an absolutely beautiful island and staying at this resort added to its charm. We will definitely return!

Pros: Very clean! Very friendly and kind staff (helpful, willing to go out of their way to make the visit nice)! Nice pool area; hot tub toasty (comfy chairs and lounges with umbrellas; attentive staff). Great location - short walk (or hotel shuttle) to Grace Bay where there is a dedicated area for Ports of Call guests with nice lounges, chairs and umbrellas; very nearby shopping (can see the shopping area from the lobby; less than a half block away), a nice grouping of shops (coffee, restaurants, boutiques, bakery, ice cream; love the Mexican restaurant!); beautiful plants and flowering shrubs; usually some activity every night (ping pong, bingo) and - Watson - the friendliest, down-to-earth bartender you will ever meet! (love his dry sense of humor!); also nearby (very walkable) are several large hotels that have excellent restaurants (the Farm was my absolute favorite) and a casino at the Ritz, more shopping/restaurants/boutiques as you walk down from the Ritz.

Nothing that I truly would put in the 'not like' category - more awareness and truly not cons: not a large resort but very nice (think Embassy Suites style with palm trees) and not fancy (but very comfortable); breakfast was good but basic (cereal, waffles, scrambled and/or hard-boiled eggs, packaged yogurt, 2 different kinds of fruits a day, bacon or sausage, pressed chicken, cheese; 24-hour coffee and fresh water).

Port of Call provided the perfect place for a first time traveler to Turks and Caicos. The staff was courteous, friendly and make sure we had all the amenities fora pleasant stays They are literally minutes away from the most beautiful beaches in Grace Bay. All the restaurants were walking distance as well.

Hotel is in a great location. I wouldn’t refer to it as a resort. From first entering into room it appeared that floors were not mopped. I did request to have mopped and it never happened. I wore a pair of sockettes in room instead of going barefoot and they were very dirty after five days and we did not wear shoes in the room. We had issue with water flow which seemed to vary amongst guests. Maintenance did come to room to address and it did improve somewhat. Room had window air conditioner unit which was very loud. Bed and pillow were very comfortable. Continental breakfast was good. The hotel does offer paddleboard/kayak rentals at beach but all days we were there the water wasn’t smooth for these activities but perfect for taking a dip. As I mentioned hotel was in great location to supermarket, some shops, restaurants including those in other resorts and short walk to beautiful Grace Bay beach.

Good location

Worst breakfast ever. It's better not to offer it Hotel infrastructure is quite old and not well maintained, very noisy ventilating machines. We also found a big bug dead in the room, and it stayed there even after "room cleaning".... All in all, completely overpriced

This was a great resort for the family to stay because of location and a great selection for breakfast. We stayed in one of the villas, and it was perfect for the family to be together. There was a bit of nearby construction, which we barely noticed, but otherwise it was a very quiet resort. The front desk was very helpful with anything that we needed.

Just spent one week here with a friend. This is a somewhat basic, small resort, however, it has everything you need. It is a few minutes walk from Grace Bay and a very large, well stocked grocery store, boutiques and restaurants. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful. Our room and all common areas were spotless at all times. The pool area was beautiful and never crowded. The buffet breakfast changed daily and included hot eggs and a hot protein (e.g. bacon or ham). The buffet was always well stocked and very clean. The front desk staff helpfully made several reservations for us.

Last-minute trip with wife and two daughters. When you convert the Comically Overpriced to Incredibly Underwhelming Quality Ratio that is present across all resorts in T&C, this resort scores very high. Clean rooms, friendly service, plenty of parking. Kids enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was acceptable. Not directly on the beach, but just a walk across the street and they provide you with chairs and great service. Still a bit too expensive for what it is, but it’s all relative. If you want a cheap hotel, go to a different country. But if you want a good deal and you’re as enamored with Grace Bay as I am, this is the spot.

States here 3 days and wonderful for me. Location is perfect, Beach, shops, supermarket and restaurants, within 5-10 min. I had a room with a balcony facing the pool. Perfect. The Ports of Call Resort has nice moderne rooms, the staff is very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is ok, bagels, scrambled eggs and bacon, fruit. Enough for me. Not the Ritz Carlton, but really nice place to stay in Grace Bay. The cleaning could be a little better, but all in all it worked out for me. I had a pleasent stay and will recommend it.
