Residency Hotels Astor Metropole

Hotel has a nice entry way. Better than I expected. Our room was a good size and had everything we needed with a nice balcony. The room is dated and could use a bit if an upgrade. Sliding bathroom door closed but would not open so if by yourself could have been a concern. Very limited on site parking which was full when we arrived. Parked at a paid place around the corner which was close so not an issue. Overall was great value and in a good location.

Great location, friendly staff and a really enjoyable stay

Very old building, towels hard and scratchy. The blankets that we needed due to polar blast were very thin. The shower is over the bath making it very difficult for mobility impaired to access. The first room we had didn’t have a plug for washing up or use in the bathroom basin. It was well situated but again difficult for mobility impaired as up a very steep hill from train station.

Very old motel, with little charm. Shower is in the bath so getting in and out is very difficult for mobility impaired people. Blankets are lightweight with little warmth. Towels are hard and scratchy. We stayed on two different nights and in two different rooms, very similar to each other. First one had no plugs for sinks in kitchenette or bathroom making it difficult to wash up or shave.

The place is dated, airconditioning is patchy and it's not as it came across on their website or Expedia. I paid $105 for the night, when for that price I could have stayed at a better place.

A bit hilly but great central access to cbd with views over Spring Hill. Close to public transport or just walk. Nice external architecture with spacious room with kitchenette and shower bath. Adequate comfort.
