Jekyll Island Club Resort

Poor food, poor cleanliness and response to, doesn’t match marketing online. Not family friendly. Quality doesn’t match price tag.

The Jekyll Island Club is a nice place to go and relax. If you have trouble with stairs then this is probably not for you. Learned a lot about the history of the area, turtles, dolphins and much more. Food was great, service just as good.

I am writing to express my disappointment with our stay, which fell far below the standards expected of a first-class resort. Instead of a relaxing visit, we dealt with repeated service failures, poor communication, and inadequate staffing throughout our stay. Our room was not ready until 5:30 p.m. despite a 4:00 p.m. check-in time. We were not clearly told that housekeeping had to be requested before 11:00 a.m. daily, and even after requesting service, we had to follow up repeatedly. Basic supplies such as toilet tissue and coffee stirrers took about two hours to arrive, and we ultimately had to go to the front desk ourselves, where the manager was dismissive. Public restrooms were poorly stocked, with three of four ladies' stalls out of toilet tissue, and no paper towels available. Food room service was unavailable. Valet and bell service also appeared understaffed, and at one point no valet attendant was available, forcing us to use the shuttle for dinner. While Malcomb, Ben, and Eva were courteous and helpful, most staff did not appear welcoming or attentive. We also still have not received the paid invoice we were told would be emailed at check-out. We have stayed at many first-class resorts and have never experienced this level of disorganization and poor service. This stay did not meet the standards represented by your property, and we do not plan to return. I hope this feedback leads to meaningful improvements in service, communication, and staffing so future guests do not have the same experience.

What an amazing place! Staff is very friendly and engaging. The property so charming. Make it a few days to truly take in the property and island...lots to do!

We had an amazing stay and I could not have been more impressed with the service we received. No matter where you walked on the beautiful grounds everyone made eye contact and offered a warm greeting, I truly felt they were grateful of my patronage. We had multiple meals as well and kudos to the chef, the food was just as good as the service! The history really makes the island feel like such a special place. I had a suite in the Cherokee cottage, beyond spacious, well maintained and spotlessly clean. Thank you and I can’t wait to visit again!

The property is beautiful and well-maintained. The history is fun to learn about. The staff was a mix of amazing and almost annoyed you were there. It was a mixed experience. Rooms are exceptionally large for an old building. Food was fantastic. Gift shops were cute & great, with friendly service. The island is 1 hour from JAX airport.

We had our daughter's wedding at the Jekyll Island Club Resort the weekend of March 28, 2026 and it was fabulous!! From the wonderful service and help from Scott, Carter and Eva as our valets, to check in with Mike and Cassidy and all the wonderful teams, from catering to the chef to the service staff- it was an amazing weekend. They didn't miss a beat and it was so good that I want to do it all again!! The staff at The Pantry, Ponnie, Karissa, Angel, Makayla, Gabby and Jaslyn, kept us going with early morning coffee, an afternoon glass of wine and late night sandwiches. And all was delicious!! But more than anything was how they became our friends and family at the end of the weekend! The Pantry was like the place to gather in between wedding activities and these ladies were so good to us! Of course, the bar inside was a great place to be as well and the bartenders there were on top of it ALL weekend! The main dining room had a wonderful breakfast buffet every morning and the service and food were top notch. It was fun to see all of our guests in the morning having breakfast as we would recount the night before! The ambiance of the resort certainly made for an unforgettable weekend as well. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and maintained the history of the hotel. When you walk through the hotel and around the grounds, you feel as if you stepped back in time. It is all so beautiful and so well maintained. The ceremony was held at The Crane Cottage and it was stunning! The food was exquisite and everything was served hot. A big deal when you have 180 guests! We are very grateful to Chef Kelvin Rivera and his team for your care and talent in feeding our guests! The entire serving team was on top of it all night! Truly, no detail was missed! Our daughter's wedding was wonderful because of EVERYONE at the Jekyll Island Club Resort. My husband and I thank you for the memories and more than anything, for your care, kindness and genuine interest you gave our family and guests that weekend. We truly appreciate all of you!

This place is beyond beautiful. Room was great for an older place. Beds were comfortable. We loved the steamer in our room. When we asked for extra towels they were delivered quickly. If you have a major problems with stairs, this place might not be a great choice. Other than the stairs, I would go back!!! Be sure to take a bike ride. The paths are breathtaking.

10 out of 10!!!! It was so beautiful and comfortable. It had everything we could ask for and the beauty of staying there was overwhelming.

The Jekyll Island Club Resort should always be included with any stay or visit to Jekyll Island. The hotel is a historical gem that offers a great opportunity to experience the past with all the benefits of modern times.
