Jekyll Island Club Resort

Great hotel / resort. Truly one of a kind. Amazing atmosphere and so much cool history. Rooms are a little pricey but worth it. The entire property is so cool. Great little shops and bars. Resteraunts are the only thing on the island that are lacking. Do not! Go to eighty ocean (at the sister property on the ocean side). It is terrible. But the wharf is cool but maybe go off island for a meal! Ha. But totally worthy the trip

What a lovely holiday weekend away. The resort was decorated so beautifully for the season. We enjoyed the holiday tea with Santa and we were traveling with all adults. The smores by the fire, the bagpiper, the brunch. All perfect.

The hotel was decorated very nicely for Christmas. The staff were very nice, and the room was clean. We paid about the same for this room as we did for the Westin, but the Westin is about like a Holiday Inn in my personal experience. We would definitely stay here again in lieu of the Westin.

I’ve been coming to Jekyll Island for many years and chose the Jekyll Island Club Resort for a special anniversary trip. The property is beautiful and rich in history. Gigi at the front desk was warm and welcoming and surprised us with a bottle of prosecco, which was a lovely touch. While most of our stay was enjoyable, service was inconsistent. The manager, Mike, was not very friendly when we asked questions and came across as unwelcoming. Breakfast in the Grand Dining Hall was also disappointing—the buffet was mediocre, the biscuits dry, and the omelet station used excessive oil despite my request. The servers, however, were attentive and kind. We were not informed that maid service had to be requested, which was surprising for an upscale resort, and the shower water pressure was extremely low. Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay thanks to the beauty of the island, the charming fire pit with s’mores, and the resort’s fascinating history.

I love this resort and will definitely be back. The main building dates back to 1886 with the newer wings constructed in the early 1900s. The room are spacious and well appointed with a mini fridge and coffeemaker. The staff is delightful, the food yummy and the grounds breathtaking. Thank you Jekyll Club Resort for making my birthday getaway perfect!

Our second Christmas staying at the Jekyll Island Club. While the hotel maintains its charm, we experienced a couple problems that detracted from our stay. First, we reserved our room under the option that included the breakfast buffet. However, when we checked in we were not told that the buffet would be closing early. Things worked out and we were seated after the official closing time, but we were initially turned away. Second, our room was right above the main dining room, which unbeknownst to us had a party in it on our second night. We were not told about this when making the reservation. So we had music pounding through the room until late into the night. These two events retracted from our stay.

Only breakfast venue was The Pantry. Food was good but not the super casual setting. It was a weekday in Dec., and an off month. Wish there had been another choice.

The Jekyll Island Resort is a very special place in December. The staff are so welcoming. The lights and decorations in such a historic setting both the hotel and grounds are unsurpassed. Especially recommend taking the historic tram tour.
