Hyatt Place Detroit/Livonia

The room was clean. Check in staff was kind and helpful the first day.

the pool area floor paint was peeling in big areas, the handle to get in the pool was broken, the pool was very cold and staff that was there would not turn it up. Staff refused to bring pool towels any of the times we were in the pool. We booked as 2 adults and 4 children but were refused any "extra" pillows or blankets. We weren't given clean towels even after asking multiple times. My husband ended up grabbing some from the laundry room himself so we could shower. After the first day we rarely saw anyone at front desk. Breakfast had several options but everything was often empty. One of the breakfast employees was amazing, so friendly so helpful. The other walked around with a ski mask covering his face all weekend cussing and tossing around dishes. My 9 year old wouldn't even go in if she could see him.

We booked a room at the Hyatt Livonia for the Champion Force Cheerleading Competition, as we have stayed many times at the Hyatt attached to the Suburban Collection Showplace and that location was unavailable. The rooms were decent when we arrived but upon close inspection, not very clean. Tape on all the walls from decoration that had been hung from a previous Tennant and even though we booked for 5 people, no bedding for the pull out sofa. When I went to the desk, to ask for it, I was told those items are in short supply and they would have to see what they could come up with. Hair on the counter outside of the bathroom, hair on the walls of the shower, no bodybwash and the conditioner was more water than anything else. Bedding on the beds consisted of two sheets and no heavy blanket. Breakfast was an even greater disappointment. We went down 2 different times hoping for a better result. Oatmeal gone. Cereal gone. Eggs gone. Potatoes nearly gone. Sausage gone. Waffle batter gone. Toppings for yogurt, but no yogurt to put them on. We even attempted the pool. Hair and dirt all over the pool deck and the railing to get out of the pool.was broken and an obvious safety hazard. Once I can figure out how to attach photos, I will update this review and include those. Overall, a very disappointed experience and not a location we will be returning to.

I like that the location was right next door to a movie theater and a good restaurant with in walking distance

I was unable to check into my room at a decent time. I had to wait over 4hrs to get into a room leaving me and the kids I had with me to wait in the lobby while it was freezing cold, due to a housekeeper manager walking out during her shift causing so much chaos.

Not very clean, had to ask for towels every time we went to the pool, mold in the comforters, our room had items from previous family that stayed in the room we had, ran out of breakfast food both mornings we were there

Quiet

Amenities no body wash, you could see on counter dried coffee so obviously not wiped . No remote. Called front desk several times no answer. Elevators slow one not working.

I liked how close it was to the venue we were at.

We had to wait for a double room to get ready, the pool deck had chunks up paint chips on the floor, not enough towels at the pool. The breakfast wasn't good with no hot meat like sausage or bacon, the breakfast was upset that my husband didn't put the serving spoon back on the plate even though he got it from the egg pan. Shower curtain was dirty. There was a stain on the pull out couch that looked like blood and it felt very unclean. There wasn't a blanket for the pull out couch.

Everything the beds are horrible the showers horrible there's hard water your itching all night after the shower the breakfast is complete trash both nights we had to go buy Breakfast after paying extra to get breaks included it was just a horrible stay all the way around won't be back and they also changed my card an extra 80$ for no reason
