Hyatt Place Chicago Schaumburg

I booked 2 rooms and upon checking in found that one of the rooms lacked a thermostat. The room was unbearably hot; in addition the rooms shower and bathtub didn’t work. I went to the front desk immediately and was told to “unplug the ac unit from the wall and see if that helps” and that there was no maintenance on call as it was the weekend. We were unable to use the room, and they still charged me almost $400. No one ever reached out to offer a solution, and when I emailed corporate I recieved a generic response and am awaiting a real response.

The experience I had at this place was bad because the sofa bed was terrible and could have badly hurt anyone's back. It felt like tucked into a cave. The center of the bed was too loose and acted like a trampoline.

The staff are professional and courteous. The bathrooms are dated and my toilet backed up but staff took care of it quickly. The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was hot and as expected. Parking is free, which is nice. It is located near a variety of restaurants. There is something for everyone. IKEA and Costco are nearby which was great because I was on a road trip. I was able to eat lunch at Costco one day of my trip and I gassed up before I hit the road. Everywhere in the hotel was clean. Water pressure in the shower was good. The ac/heat unit is older but not too noisy. Once I got my room to the proper temperature, I just turned it off and I was good for the night. There are refrigerators in the rooms but no microwave which is kind of a bummer. There is a community microwave in the Breakfast overflow room. Parking is free and they don't have a "destination charge" or whatever it's called like hotels near the Loop. I would definitely recommend. 9/10.

All was good, convenient location, great hot breakfasts and the young 16 year old student at the front desk was outstanding and very professional.

Everything was great except the area where the toilet and shower were, it was quite a tight fit to get in and out when opening the door to get out.

Very good hotel as expected from Hyatt Place. Very clean and location was peaceful. The breakfast was not as good as other Hyatt place.
