Comfort Inn Federal Way - Seattle

The location is convenient. I enjoy how close the Comfort Inn is to a variety of places such as department stores, restaurants/great fast food places, and my job.

Even though this is supposed to be a completely non-smoking establishment, there are still people smoking in their rooms! I think they should be fined for it! You need to have a Security staff member working nights to catch these rule breakers in the act! (just walk down the hallways and follow your nose!)

Old property that needs a good update. Hallways and fitness rooms especially. Cleaning lady was knocking un our door at 8am wanting to know when we were leaving?? Tv channels are very limited. No wash clothes in room. 4 story hotel and they do have 1 working elevator but the other one looks like it has not worked in a long time. Room was clean but very dated.

How they changed my room to a quieter room and were really nice about it.

Not very clean, bad area, shady people in and out. Not a secure hotel! The doors were wide open at 3am! No hot water the first night… I could go on and on

The hotel itself is an older property that could use updating but it is in a convenient area for restaurants, businesses, etc. My issue is not with the property itself but a dispute regarding a billing issue. As briefly as I relate my issue it is: I’ve been an elite member of the Comfort Inn rewards program for over twenty-five years and have stayed in CI properties well over 1500 nights. When I travel to the Seattle area my friend and I always stay here just because of its location. Two weeks ago I booked a room for three nights and received a three+-night rate. Circumstances dictated that I had to leave after two nights and I informed the desk clerk of this upon check-in. I told her to just charge me the going nightly rate but she refused to do so, saying that I couldn’t change the reservation because I hadn’t given twenty-four hours’ notice. Nowhere in the Terms and Conditions does it state that I can’t change the last night of a reservation, only that I can’t receive the special rate; I do not care about the rate, I care only that I was charged a third night after giving 36-hours’ notice that I wasn’t staying the third night. My position is that I did give notice on Friday that I was checking out on Sunday but they charged me for the three nights anyway. In twenty-eight years of staying at Comfort Inns this is the first time this issue has arisen where hotel management has done this to me. CI Customer Service was no help. I will not stay at this property in the future as I consider this a form of theft. Be careful in booking here.
