Extremely old and tired. Shocking surprise

We stayed here for my son's Mayo Clinic testing. I was hesitant based upon the reviews and one prior experience. Our check in on the 24th of March in the evening was rushed by the gentleman checking us in. We were not provided any information about the hotel, gym, pool, etc. We stayed in room 225. It was a balcony room, but unfortunately due to the pollen we could not utilize the balcony as it was covered in yellow pollen. On the second night the mold/mildew smell in the room became overbearing with the a/c. We were supposed to spend 3 nights, but checked out after two. I would not stay here again. This was my second stay here in the last year and the first time was on the first floor. The rooms are not as clean as one would hope or expect.

We chose this property because of its proximity to Mayo Clinic. I am sure they have a ‘captive’ audience, but the lobby, room, and restaurant are well kept. Staff was very welcoming and attentive. Rooms are spacious and beds are acceptable. We would stay again if needed.

Clean but needs freshening up. Carpet had some stains. There was an old smoke smell in room but should not have been. Old paint, worn furniture. Only good thing was that it was on Mayo campus. Expect better for a $250- plus taxes room. Reminded me of a lesser quality motel.
