Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton

The location is perfect, nothing can top it. The history and the architecture is amazing, and the staff are very nice, they treat you well.

We have stayed here four times now; the costs are ever increasing due to the recent renovation. The pillows are always uncomfortable, Hilton needs to change those pillows; constantly causing me neck pain. They set the thermostat at 68 making it too warm to sleep, they lock the temperature so you cannot adjust it. This visit there was clanging and banging sounds, thumping and hammering all night long; both nights this went on. I have no idea what was going on but it made sleep a little rough this go around.

Las alfombras en pasillos huelen a polvo, las puertas e interior de elevadores no muy limpias, demasiados eventos privados y no te dejaban ver los salones y eso causaba demasiada gente circulando. El precio muy caro en relación. Alquilaban las bicicletas! Las comidas muy caras.

Staff throughout hotel were very unhappy and showed it. Zero bathroom amenities, basic amenities were empty

The property is fantastic but the rooms are terrible. Our room had rusty fixtures, vents with heavy dusty and ripped bed linen. It’s a shame that they don’t take better care of the rooms. The property itself is right on the ocean with lots of F&B and activity options(very pricey). It’s also located near Orange Street which has lots of dining and shopping options.

Staying at the Del has been on my bucket list for awhile, and I was especially eager to go after the big renovation. We stayed for three nights in the Victorian part, which was lovely. The property is very nice. Surprisingly big room and very nicely appointed bathroom. Very excellent housekeeping. The beds were very comfortable and there was a good amount of storage space for a family of three. I also appreciated small details like an extra shelf in the bathroom for toiletries and side tables on both sides of the bed with outlets for charging phones. We had an ocean view room on a corner so we saw some parking lot plus the ocean, but that was ok. One thing that really stood out during the entire experience was the friendliness of the staff. The front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, pool, and beach staff were amazing. We enjoyed some very good meals on the property. Although the breakfast buffet at the Verandah restaurant is pricey we thought it was worth it for the al fresco dining and excellent quality and selection. We enjoyed a takeout breakfast at the ENO market another day. Very good food on the Sun Deck and we splurged on a dinner at Serea, which was delicious. The facilities were great, the cabana pool was very nice, the gym had all the equipment needed for a good workout. We did make reservations for beach loungers which was enjoyable, although the beach swimming wasn't fully available that day. (Coronado beach has some water quality issues, so it is good to check before you go.) Lounging under an umbrella was still relaxing for the adults, even though my son was a bit disappointed, so we took him to the pool after. The adults did use the spa, which had nice facilities and the treatments were good. I am still feeling the glow of my facial a week later! Our overall experience made my spouse a convert on the benefits of the resort lifestyle. I hope we can come back to the Del in the near future.

We rented a day bed on the beach at Hotel Del, and Wendy Wolf was our girl! She took care of us and always made sure we had what we needed and then some!! She was spectacular!!
