Newton Country Hotel Burton Upon Trent

Attended a wedding which was lovely and food Good, just parts of the hotel need to be updated, like bedroom doors.

We asked three full refund due to a large wedding party taking over the whole hotel and we've experienced this in the past when all we wanted to do was to stay in a quiet country hotel. Website indicated this was a quite comfortable hotel and we did not expect to be staying as wedding guests of somebody else's wedding and therefore decided to travel free arms home to Ipswich. When we asked Expedia for a full refund due to the circumstances we were told that we were not entitled even though we believed the service provided by Expedia and the hotel was below our expectation. We would not recommend either Expedia or this hotel to anybody who to lack customer service and understanding very wanting a quiet hotel as advertised

Service was good. Staff lovely. Hotel is well dated. Needs a good overall and modernising. Such a lovely building. Could be stunning. Most definitely NOT a 4 Star.

Booked myself into this hotel as a friend was having his wedding reception there. Staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The breakfast buffet in the morning was good quality, and quantity. I would stay again.

Banging doors all night, terrible soundproofing could hear a lady enjoying herself all night, small and dated room, toilet position too close to wall causing bumped knees and head

No mention of an event going on upon check in at 6pm or on the website. Settled down into bed for the evening after a very long day working and music starts thumping under my room, walls vibrating. It continued until midnight! I was not impressed. Reception staff response- oh sorry. Yeah we should say on the website when an event is going on!!! Plus due to the very warm weather, the room was uncomfortably hot as no aircon or fans. Won't be staying here again.
