No breakfast, location was good. Very quiet. The bed was great in that i like a firm mattress, extremly comfortable. Daytime desk guy was very helpful, night guy acted like you were bothering him if you needed something.

The freezer and refrigetator did no work well and i had to request a room change. Patking lot was not plowed and people were getting stuck in the snow in the lot.Housekeeping did not vacuum on 2 occasions when cleaning the room but they did load and run the dishwasher even though i had only left a plate and cup in the sink

Your place has potential. I thought the carpeting was old and messy all over. The furnishings were older and need to be upgraded. I did find the bathrooms and shower to be up to par. I wondered if your remodeling began there and you know you need to do more. Outsides messy garbage cans in entry! Already had me leery of what was gonna be inside. The signage to get to you was poor, too!? I’m sorry I thought MainStay had a better reputation! Also hire a desk person for for overnight! What about a fight or fire? I was nervous

I had booked 4 nights at the MainStays in Grand Rapids, MI. I was taking my son to a sports tournament and picked that hotel because the room had a kitchen. I needed to cook healthy meals during the tournament. My son and I flew in and checked in late (10pm) on Thursday 2/05. We were given room #115 on the ground floor. When I opened the door there was a strong smell of cigarettes even though this is a non-smoking hotel. I reported it and we were changed to room #315. I realized the elevator was out of service even if the Front Desk staff acted as if they were not aware. My son and I had to carry our luggage to the 3rd floor. I quickly noticed how dirty the kitchen area was. There were dishes in the dishwasher but they looked unwashed. There was only 1 dinner plate and 1 fork. In the cabinets, the dishes were stained and dirty worst of all was a frying pan full of cooking oil and burnt food. See attached photos. I also noticed a missing lightbulb on the light on the nightstand. The gas fireplace wasn’t working. The carpet looked filthy. I knew we couldn’t stay more than one night and checked out first thing in the morning.
