Hampton Inn Gaylord

Our stay was good. It would have been excellent if our room would have had a micro wave so that we could have heated our coffee we had gotten from the front desk as it was not warm. A plus is the parking, as we had a boat. In fact that was the primary reason for staying at the hotel.

Check in person was not friendly. They only had one luggage cart. There was trash outside the front door.

Desk clerk met us at the door, so we didn’t have to track someone down for a late check in. Comfy beds. Clean room, hallway and stairwell. Overall pleasant experience and great night sleep.

The lobby is nice but the room was not cleaned very well and there were a lot stains on the carpet. There was pee all over the toilet, top and bottom. Fromk desk lady had to come reclean our bathroom.

Convenient location.

Black mold in bathroom and pretty filthy room. I noticed after about an hour in our room (104), my allergies started to flare up and I was having trouble breathing. (I’m highly allergic to mold spores.) I wrote it off as being in a new place and went to bed. Next morning, I woke up with a severe sinus infection. I go to shower & notice several spots of black mold on the ceiling. There are also bubbles under the wallpaper/peeling wallpaper & water damage by the ceiling vent. It’s VERY obvious they have tried to reculk & paint over the mold to hide it instead of remediating the mold. The culk around the tub is moldy. I’m baffled that they would think it’s okay to hide and risk people’s health to save money. The room was also pretty disgusting. A hair in the clean towel. A spot on the mirror where there was thick, brownish (like, maybe it used to be a sticky white substance… iykyk) dripping from the mirror… like a drip that dried there, hanging. Yuck. The shower head and shower fixtures all had built up bacteria from not being properly cleaned in a while (or maybe ever). Outside the bathroom, everything was covered in dust. The little ottomans in there had a stain that looked like maybe a dog had peed on it. I would steer clear of this place if you value cleanliness or have mold allergies. This place was gross as heck. When I spoke to the blonde lady at the front desk, she didn’t say a word… Just stared at me with dead eyes. No apology, nothing. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me the assistant manager was right over there in the office and told me “she heard”. I could see the assistant manager through the open door, as she watched me with an annoyed look on her face that said she didn’t believe me about the filth in the room. We made eye contact, so I don’t doubt she heard me… but she also couldn’t even be bothered to get off her butt and come talk to me about it, or even speak to me from her chair. Absolutely astounding how horrible their attitudes and service are. I wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me.

Location provided easy access and exit to freeway. Staff was exceptionally nice

Needs to be updated. Shabby furnishings, linens, stained and worn carpeting, dusty/dirty behind the tv console and mini fridge that barely cooled anything I put in there. Very uncomfortable bed that made noise every time we changed position during the night. Noisy heating and cooling unit
