Comfort CUBE PHOENIX Beppu (やよいビル)

Fantastic stay! This was my second time staying with Comfort Cube (other was in Fukuoka) and I actually enjoyed this one even more than the first time! I loved how practical and fully stocked the apartment was. It was clean, comfortable and the central location close to the train station and right on the main shopping arcade was just perfect. Easy, flexible self check-in/-out.

The place was nice and had what we needed. The location is good. The kitchen have only the most necessary equipments but it worked and you can cook a few simple things. There was no double bed, but the beds were comfortable.

Cheap apartment right in the centre of Beppu close to most of the onsen and the shopping and of course the "vice" streets. Walking to a lot of the onsen here takes a few minutes. Full kitchen and Laundry are within the apartment,

Easy to find, 5-7minute walking distance from the train station. The Yayoi Tengu is literally right beside the building. It was fully equipped with toiletries,towels, and even laundry detergent for washing. Totally more than worth the value that we paid for! Bed was also quite comfy plus they provided an extra warm blanket coz it was still cold.

Some areas of the apartment were a little dusty, and the floor made noises easily, no matter how light you step on it.

Comfy, private, super close to the station and to all the good food and drink in town, and kitted out with cooking and bathing amenities (though no utensils, strangely?)

Kinda small if you're booking for 3 people like we did! The checkin procedure was a little bit convoluted (emailing details back and forth to receive check-in dets) but nothing too bad. The worst thing I have to say about this property was - right - the way it's set out there's a bunk bed in the middle of the room, set against a couch. Behind the bunk bed there's like a weird claustrophobic metre and a half of dead space that you can't use. There's perfect spaces at the end of either wall where that bunk bed would fit perfectly, opening up the space. We literally measured. Spent my whole time in the place going insane over that room organisation decision. I felt like I was that Feng Shui guy on tiktok. It wasn't even that cramped I just don't understand the vision here. Otherwise lovely though.
