"The hotel to stay with a view to Macau"

8.0

Regency Art Hotel is a very well located hotel in Taipa, near to Macau (only a bridge is between Regency hotel and the main square in Macau: Amaral Square) . In Taipa are located the big majority of the 5 star hotels and casinos with huge malls and entertainment facilities of all kinds. The only thing that turns regency Hotel less agreable is the fact that it has all the inside restaurants and room service unavailable.

"Reception staff need training! "

4.0

I arrived in a hotel around 4am to collect my pre checked in bag pack. Didn't see anyone at the reception desk. Saw a security guard and told him I'd like to collect my bag, he than brought me back to the reception desk only to realized someone is sitting behind the counter. No smile, no greeting but a sour face as if my arrival has disturb his busy night shift work. I asked for late check out but only to be told off my face "checked out is before 12pm" (no further explanation). His rudeness and bad attitude angered me that I insisted to see a manager. Finally, I did get my late check out to catch up with some sleep. The same day at 1pm, I came down to check out and there were 2 receptionist, one attending guest and the other totally unaware I was standing awaiting for service that she had to be told by her colleague. What's going on!? Now, in my opinion, few bad receptionist can badly damage the hotel reputation. When the hotel is old, the emphasis or priority should be on customer service.

"Great hospitality"

10.0

Changed the thinking of making your opinion in first look, when I entered in the hotel, impression was just ok but every day it was keep on change and my final feeling is nothing can be better than this, Mr.willie Tay General manager of hotel himself so much concern for comfort of every guest which is overwhelming, he specifically arranged authentic Indian cuisine for us , breakfast menu is full of variety and quality food, entire staff except two guys on front office very cordial, always willing to welcome you with real heartfelt smile, thanks to everyone with special thanks to Charles and very special thanks to Mr. Ram, the tennis coach. A must visit place.

"Tacky house keeping !"

4.0

Just got back from a work trip in Macau and we were booked into this hotel as nothing else seemed available as it was a big Chinese festival date. It’s rather far from the main heart of Macau to begin with. The hotel is not always very helpful in sourcing taxis. The food options on the menu at their Restauraunt and breakfast were sad. The rooms smelt of smoke !!! And the windows didn’t open so there was no getting away from the smell. The mattress was hard. But what I couldn’t get over was the torn and tattered bed linen ! To its credit the hot shower was super ! But that’s all I can say as a plus for this hotel.

Nice Location At Taipa. Old Hotel but tasteful renovation is done. Interior is acceptable though the Bathroom deco is a little bit Primitive. Very convenient location and access to other parts of city.

"Rated a 4 star but more like a 3/3.5 star"

6.0

I booked this hotel through booking.com for my girlfriend and I to enjoy the CNY holiday. Though the staff were very nice at check in it wasn’t what we were expecting from a 4 star hotel. The lobby was nice and had modern decoration, having art pieces around and even a mini art gallery attached. The room was quite outdated and we found a couple stray hairs on the walls and surfaces of the bathroom. It was a little run down and the room had very minimal lighting and no automatic power. There were no easily accessible plugs so we had to move furniture to charge our electronics. The WiFi was terrible and kept logging on and off and was slow. We had a king size bed but the pillows were very soft and small, like cushions while the mattress was uncomfortably hard. We were offered continental breakfast of a mix of Asian and western foods. Although the breakfast was complimentary and because of CNY there were so many guests and at times there were not enough tables to accommodate everyone. By the time we found a table our food was cold it was much better to grab something outside. We were booked in for 2 nights but our key card was booked for only 1 night so we were locked out of our room the 2nd night but that was quickly fixed when my girlfriend went down to reception to fix. On a good note, the hotel is not too far from both sides of Macau and is within short walking distance of bus stops. Taxis were less frequent and because there was no line for them it was chaotic trying to get one because at times other guests would grab your cab. The view from our window was quite nice though and at times we got to see fireworks. On the whole, Macau was lovely but I definitely overpaid to stay here. I think we may opt to stay elsewhere next time.

"An average hotel !"

6.0

We had booked Harbour view rooms for our 2 day stay, however on check-in surprisingly we were allocated a tiny smelly room with no view. On insisting the front desk staff with booking details we where finally given the Harbour view room which was bigger & a newly renovated room than the earlier one. So felt the hotel lacked professionalism. Further the front desk staff had a straight face and where not customer friendly to talk to. Further I echo with other reviews that only the lobby had a nice look, however most of the rooms were quite outdated and major renovation is required. Breakfast spread was nice however as expected no options for Indian cuisine. Location of the hotel just Ok as considering Macau there were no casinos nearby. The famous casino areas like The Venetian or The Grand Lisboa were on either side of the hotel where you can take the public bus from hotel. Overall our stay was just fine and personally would prefer to stay in a hotel close to The Grand Lisboa area next time if I happen to visit again.
