Travelodge by Wyndham Vaughn

The beds were horrible, too small. Its not worth the money. To get to the room we had to walk throygh a dirt lot. There was cigarrete and pet smells in the room. This is maybe a 2 out of a 10 score.

Reserved a room on Hotels.com only to be turned away by the motel stating they had no rooms. I want my money back.

This property description is way off base. Reserved a king, was told by manager that they didn't have any. Railroad people have priority and they never knew when they check out. It was Expedia's fault for offering one. Offered a queen, then tried to tell me there was very little difference between a king and a queen! Bed was lumpy and slanted. Room was very worn. Property badly maintained. Even the railroad people complained about it. Food is way too expensive for what you get. Can't sit inside. No snack or soda machines on site. Two floors, no elevator! Limited exits. Dont bother with this place. Feel sorry for the railroad people for having to stay there.

Manager was nice but new to the location. The windy haven’t been cleaned in ages. The shower didn’t work, there is only takeout at the one restaurant on site. No other restaurants in town.

I drive through Vaughn every couple of months and decided that I would book a room at the Travelodge. I was traveling with my 2 year old grandson and my trip started out with a blowout as I left town. I called them up and told them I was going to have a late check in. The girl I spoke to told me no problem. She asked when I would arrive and I told her after midnight. She said no problem, the diner stops serving food at 10pm so if I wanted food to stop ahead of time. I said no problem. When I got to the hotel at 1:10am, exhausted and barely able to stay awake, I was told that my room was canceled and sold. I told the girl that I called and notified them that I was going to be late and needed a late check in and she said she never got the message. I asked if there were any more rooms and she said no. I ended up driving another hour and a half to Albuquerque to get a room 4x more expensive. I will never book a room there again and I won’t recommend anyone to stay there either!!

Hotel is setup for railroad guests, and their office is next to the gym. The gym is full of their copy paper and boxed air conditioners for the hotel and is unusable. Rooms are basic, could use fresh paint and deep cleaning. The diner is never consistent with their food, orders are never correct and the diner staff is not friendly (nor most of the hotel staff). However, its the only "mainstream" (by brand, its actually an Oak Tree Inn) in town vs the motels. Also the only resturant in town, so you are trapped. I'd rather stay in Santa Rosa, but this is where my job puts me up at times. Hotel is dated and better mtce.

There were dead bugs under the beds, the bathroom was dirty (hair, stains...), one of the lamps was broken. The man at the front desk for check-in was not very friendly, we had a long drive so arrived late (11:30) and the first thing the man said, even before saying hi was "I was wondering if you guys were gonna show up". But the lady we had for check-out was really nice.

I booked 2 rooms more than 3 months ahead of my arrival dates in mid May for 6 nights. I had used an outside booking site and received a confirmation number and confirmation email. Two weeks before arrival, I called the hotel directly to clarify dates and they told me they were all sold out. They said they've been booked since 2020 and were booked for at least the next 3 months as well (due to the wind industry taking up all their rooms). Even though I had a confirmation email for two separate rooms for 6 nights, and they could see it in their system, they told me they would be canceling my reservations. They said there was nothing they could do as they had no rooms. When I asked to talk to the manager, I was told she was too busy to talk to me and that it wouldn't matter anyway because they have no rooms. She also said there are no other rooms in any of the other Vaughn hotels either. I'm so glad I found out about this before I just showed up on their doorstep since I was driving in from ABQ and the conference was in a different location 45 mins away. It's hard to believe they would book this knowing they had been full since 2020, Later I called the outside booking company to make sure my reservation was canceled. They called the hotel to double check. The hotel lied and said they had canceled our booking because they would be closed on the dates of my reservation. Not true. It's bad enough that this glitch happened, but they didn't need to lie and try to cover up the reason. They are not in their integrity.

Wife and I stayed here while I was working near Encino NM! Was a good clean hotel will stay here again! Good value and closest hotel to the job I was working!
