RESI STAY Mayu Grace Hotel

To tell the truth, when I pulled up to the hotel, tucked away on a back street, my expectations were to have just a base of operations and I could live with that, but, after receiving our code and checking into the room was very pleasantly surprised at the space afforded and the comfort level of the room... the beds were generous and comfortable, the WC separated and the warm seats and bidet appreciated by all, the separate kitchen a welcome addition, and the location excellent. There was a desk for the computers and ample electrical outlets and even chargers. Just a short walk from Nijo castle (quite impressive, take the inside/outside ticket) a reasonable walk to the central market and various other attractions in the city.. Good restaurants are nearby (Go-En recommended as well as the small bakery at the end of the street), as well as 7/11 and local markets Can I recommend this place?? Yes, emphatically, yes.

In this price range, very little could have been better. I imagine that if I compared it the extremely high end hotels I could find something, but for now, very satisfied.

Large room with well equipped kitchen. A comfortable bed, coffee machine in the lobby.

No genuine luggage storage as you could leave it in the lobby but staff were only in the lobby from 2:00 pm until 10:00pm. So if you arrived early or checked out but wanted to leave your luggage it was unattended. Also found the receptionist to go over so many rules which was unnecessary as you signed their forms. We are a couple who are basically 60 years old so it wasn’t aimed at us just a training matter.

Un lugar super comodo y accesible para una estancia en Kyoto. Si bien esta un poco retirado de la estación de tren de Kyoto, el transporte proporcionado para el ckin ayuda mucho, sobre todo para familiarizarse con la ciudad antes de andar con maletas en el metro. La ubicación cercana a paradas de autobús, a unos minutos del castillo y a unos 10 min de la estación de metro. seguro hay otros lugares más céntricos, pero disfrute mucho de caminar por una zona residencial y conocer restaurantes frecuentados por locales.

Since we were spending more than a few days in Kyoto, we decided to get a larger apartment-style room as our 'base' of adventure in the heart of things. Central to everything, the RESI STAY Mayu Grace didn't disappoint. We LOVED this room for the value as it allowed us to cozy up in style with some family Netflix-time after a long day of exceptional sight-seeing and fine local dining (or simply hitting the 7-11, Lawson's or Family Mart nearby for abundant, cheap nibbles like the locals do!). This is definitely something worth considering if you're hauling along a teenager, going on a long trip, and want to give everyone a little space while being in the absolute best location. The lobby is cute, functional, and has great free coffee. We felt like rock stars, I am definitely writing my next novel here. We're coming back!

While the staff is professional and courteous, because of their limited hours (the desk staff were only there from 2pm on), you had to plan your 'requests' (ie. more towels) around this hyper-efficiency. Outside of this small thing, we loved the Mayu Grace.

I liked it all, but a laundromat on site would’ve been helpful (there is one nearby but we didn’t use it).
