Extended Stay America Suites - Indianapolis - West 86th St

The room was dirty. Used Q-tip on the floor, bathtub so dirty we didn’t want to use it. Poorly maintained everywhere. No fan in the bath and the fan between the bedroom and the living area didn’t work so no A/C in the bedroom. The microwave and stove were rusty. The bathroom faucet extended about 1” into the sink making it useless. The room smelled like a crab feast and the rest of the hotel smelled like marijuana. People yelling at each other at 4:00 am. Horrible, horrible experience.

Convenient stay as my husband was at Ortho Indy for an overnight after surgery. The room was clean, however, the hallway looks a bit shabby and dated. Fine for one night.

Drugs noise could not get sleep!!!!!

The front desk assistant Shaneice was excellent and she was the sole reason why the stay overall was manageable. The lights in our batroom did not work, nor the electric outlets and maintenance would not be in until we checked out, but the way she handled the situation and her empathy was excellent even though we were extremely dissatisfied. Also, the room smelled aweful, like sewer and moldy water 😢 which we reported, but again there was nothing Shaneice could do because they were sold out because of the Indy500 race.

Upon checkout, we asked for a late checkout (1 hour later) and were told no, however, you would have thought the manager herself would be empathetic to the terrible room we had and our overall disappointing experience, but she was not? Nevertheless, it is staff like Shaneice who obviously is the heart of the hotel which again was evident in how she handled our situation and the interaction of other guests I witnessed while there.

No trash cans in room had to leave out to throw away items. One elevator to get to room. There weren’t any public restrooms for guest downstairs in the hotel. Inconvience to handicap which my mother is so she had to take elevator and walk to my room was on second floor.
