Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Wichita East

The property was awful! The lobby looked very inviting and clean. Our check in was at 3pm, we arrived at 6:30pm and was told our room wasn’t clean and it would be 30 minutes. As we, finally, made our way up the stairs to our room, there was an exterior window in the hallway busted and missing. Our bedding had cigarette burns it, the ice bucket had what appeared to be ashes, and the coffee pod holder had broken jewelry in it. The pool area had a drop cord running next to the pool to the hot tub. The pool room was also missing glass.

Located near freeway and downtown.

The property is poorly cared for. It was not very clean; there was a hole in the bathroom wall, and the ceiling paint is peeling off. Mattresses were older.

Took them 2 hour to come up to my room to fix tv. Air conditioning was on 60 not any lower to keep room cool. Lost lot of sleep all night.

I got to the hotel 4 hours after checkin started to find out my room hadnt even been cleaned yet. Staff couldnt even give me a good estimate to when it would be done

Great service and friendly staff. Pool was nice and warm. Small hot tub. Rooms were comfortable with all the basic amenities.

Multiple areas of the room didn't look cleaned or washed linen. The jetted tub had mold on the outside

That I had a roof over me and my children heads. The room size.

That you get only 20 hours (1500-1100). The TV. It was practically useless. My kids brought their Xbox and could never play, called front desk for help and they said it was not possible. It's 2025......that to me was a big one and a reason I will not be staying here again or any hotel that does not allow use to their TV use thru HDMI. Just seemed ridiculous. The pool area filthy. (Granted they all are) No towels at pool area. And only 1 towel in room......so that kinda sucked. Something you can not control that I did not like was the location. It's off KELLOGG and was woke up at around 0200 (bars closed I suspected) to what sounded like street racing going on for at least a hour plus. I don't live inside a city but hearing all that going on makes me want to just stay away. Luckily it was just me effected and didn't wake my children. I don't like the door locks. (The physical metal latch part) We went out for dinner and came back and I could NOT open my door but about a inch or 2. (Front desk had metal fork tool to get the latch). Somehow the the lock latched itself from the INSIDE when I closed the door. (So Everytime we left I had anxiety that it'd happen again). 2 tiny like one gallon trash cans in room. The trash in the hall by the elevator was like a volcano. Literally so full it was overflowing from time we got there to time we left. The luggage shuttle (idk name) you need more than 1 of them (you're check in and out time are so narrow that literally at 1500 (in) 1100 (out) it's nigh impossible.

The customer service was almost non existent. There was only one person checking everyone in and when a second arrived instead of taking people in line he started checking in the people just walking in. When asked questions you were ignored or they walked away. Our room was dirty and the toilet didn't flush well and the TV didn't work. When these concerns were brought up we were advised that they were at compacity and had no other rooms.

Very old and tired property.

It was decently priced however the saying goes you get what you pay for.

I booked this hotel specifically for the pool, however we arrived Friday evening at 8- pool doesn’t close until 10 but it was closed for maintenance. But, the owner I think was quite nice after 30 mins she said she would open it up however it would be cloudy due to them just changing the filters, completely understandable and all my kids wanted to do was swim so we were fine with it. The next morning, suppose to open at 9, it was closed again for maintenance didn’t open until 12:30 and we could only swim until 3:00 because of an event we were down there for. Sunday woke up at 9 to swim until we had to check out at 11 and once again it was closed. Also, the front desk people kept leaving the front desk to go chat with friends in the parking lot which left one person to check us in in the evening so there was a line of people just waiting. My room key kept deactivating so I had to continue to go to the front desk and get it reactive and no I didn’t have it around my cell phone or electronics I travel enough to know better. Lastly, they didn’t have complimentary breakfast which is fine also, although most hotels have that as it’s included in the price and they didn’t promote quiet hours. My kids and I were awoken to partying at 1:30 in the morning happening in the lobby and right outside the lobby in the circle drive which was just below our room. The tv didn’t work in the room either, which was fine my kids brought tablets so we just watched a movie on them. Again, for the price.. the fact we could barely use any of the amenities, feels like we got ripped off. Had we been able to enjoy the amenities then I wouldn’t be complaining about what we paid, I honestly would have rather spent $120 more to go 10 mins up the road at a nicer hotel after not being able to use the amenities here.
