Hotel Chataura

i didn’t even stay for 10 minutes i immediately left because the place was falling apart, the bead were stained and the place stunk of cigarettes. I wouldn’t be surprised if i got bedbugs from staying there

The worst in every way a hotel room can be wrong, checked in and as soon as you open the door there is an army of roaches welcoming you to the room. Dirty from the beds to the bathroom to the carpet . Every inch smells like cigarettes . I lasted 5 min in there and left the property, won’t even issue a refund or come out to talk to you . I don’t know why the city of Detroit will leave such establishment open .

This place should be condemned! Its a complete travesty. I checked in went to my room, pulled back the covers, and immediately asked for a refund. They refused and i had to contact Hotels.com to get a complete refund. The sheets contained blood stains and bed bugs. No one should ever step foot on the premises.

Dirty,old, no noise isolation

i was extremely disappointed when i emailed the hotel and never heard back from them. my experience to say the least ways very upsetting. 1. there were no batteries in the fire detector 2. under the bed was not cleaned. there were items left over from other visits 3. 2/3 of the outlets kept flickering 4. we saw a live cockroach in our room 5. lastly, my friend got something out of the vending machine that expired 2022.

This place shouldn’t even open

Booked 2 rooms for crews on business in the area. They checked in and went to the room which was infested with roaches and bed bugs. They went to the front desk to switch rooms but the 2nd room had the same problem. They ended up leaving and staying at another hotel and I am currently trying to get a refund. The hotel is not taken care of at all. Highly do not recommend staying.

There was roaches all over the room, the room in general was not what was advertised, the floors were so sticky that we couldn’t put our items down, much less walk without our shoes sticking, the elevator was sketchy and honestly terrifying - how this was allowed to be used for the public is beyond me. There were no blankets, just a sheet and all the pillows were disgusting. My boyfriends shoe accidentally got pushed under the bed and when i grazed the ground with my hand, it was so unclean I (not jokingly) scrubbed and bleached my hands. There was no trash bin and no mini fridge. No microwave either but we weren’t expecting that. The main light didn’t work, and the one lamp was plugged in behind the bed, so whenever you moved on the bed, the light would flicker. Total fire hazard. The safety latch on the door was beyond broken, and there were holes in the bathroom door. The water pressure for the shower was non existent, and the room, even though the hotel is advertised as non smoking, reeked of cigarette smoke and weed. The staff wasn’t friendly, and whenever we walked in and out of the hotel, would constantly interrogate me and my mother if we were guests and needed to show our key room to prove so. Horrible horrible horrible stay. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

Do not stay at this hotel. We checked in and they gave us a room with people already in the room. It is definitely a “you can get a room by the hour” hotel. We were given the family suite as a we are sorry. No, TV’s, half the lights don’t work and all bedding was stained. This being said we used the restroom and then left. While we were checking in there were some Spanish young men looking for a room to share; as we were leaving they were coming up from the basement and the clerk asked them if they were interested, they said no and by the look in their face it must have been a pretty scary hostel. Drug deals going on in parking lot. All around dirty and dingy place. I do not recommend to anyone. We left for our show and never went back. I would have taken photos, but really just wanted out before I got some disease.

Left without staying either night, sheets had stains on them floor was sticky walls covered in brown & yellow stains. Hallways had food & debris. Staff at front refused refund even for the second night said to contact Expedia. Expedia said it’s up to the property so now I’m out the money & I didn’t even stay here. Won’t be using these services again.
