Thistle London Heathrow Terminal 5

Close to Terminal 5 Heathrow, and good value for money. Rooms are what you would expect for the price, nothing elaborate but certainly good enough.

The hotel's located close to Terminal 5 at Heathrow but to reach it you need to take a driverless shuttle pod and then walk through a car park. It's not a huge hassle but with luggage in the rain it can be awkward. Also, you may need to queue up to 10 mins for a pod at busier times, so give yourself time if catching a flight. As with some of the cheaper chain hotels these days, they encourage you to use automated check-in, which feels a bit like ordering at McDonalds. However, it didn't work for me (and others) so I ended up queueing at reception to speak to an over-worked member of staff.

So convenient for T5 and being able to leave your car in carpark and use pods to and from terminal.

Great location for T5. Catch the "Pod" from T5 for a 5 min journey to the hotel - I like a kid in the driverless Pod - great fun. From the outside the hotel looked a little tired and dated so I wasn't expecting much, but when inside it was anything but. My room was spotlessly clean, spacious, had everything I needed and was great value for money. The bed was so comfortable. There was a little self service shop near reception which was a bonus. The staff were brilliant and so very helpful.

The extortionate prices for a small bottle of water. £3.99. should not have a room number 666.

Being able to just jump on a pod to T5 was superb. I would definitely recommend this hotel stay for T5.
